<br />POLICE STATION)
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Ziolkowski Construction, Inc., has
<br />submitted Change Order No. 1 (Final) indicating that the Contract
<br />amount for the above referred to project be increased by
<br />$5,533.00 for a new Contract sum including this Change Order in
<br />the amount of $133,158.00. Additionally submitted was the
<br />Project Completion Affidavit indicating this new final cost.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and
<br />carried, Change Order No. 1 (Final) and the Project Completion
<br />Affidavit were approved.
<br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 (FINAL) - INDIANA AVENUE/MASTIC
<br />CORPORATION PROJECT
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Rieth-Riley Construction, P.O. Box
<br />1775, South Bend, Indiana, has submitted Change Order No. 1
<br />(Final) indicating that the Contract amount for the above
<br />referred to project be increased by $22,347.93 for a new Contract
<br />sum including this Change Order in the amount of $166,339.93.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski
<br />and carried, Change Order No. 1 (Final) was approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - REPAIRS TO OLD
<br />FURNITURE BUILDING
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Bureau of Design
<br />and Administration, requested that the Board advertise for the
<br />receipt of bids for repairs to the old Sandock Furniture Building
<br />located at 1217-1221 West Washington Street. Mr. Humphrey
<br />advised that this project entails roof repairs, window
<br />enclosures, site clean-up and minor structural reconstruction.
<br />Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code
<br />Enforcement, advised that this building was owned by St. Joseph
<br />County and conveyed to South Bend Heritage. She stated that bids
<br />will be sought for work that will provide immediate repairs to
<br />stop the building from deteriorating in order that its re -use can
<br />be determined. She stated that the repairs will basically be
<br />repair of the roof and weatherizing the structure. Upon a motion
<br />made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried,
<br />the above request was approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - TOWING AND
<br />STORAGE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director,
<br />Department of Code Enforcement, has informed the Board that the
<br />Department currently has a Contract with Steve and Gene's Auto
<br />and Truck Salvage and Repair for the towing and storage of
<br />abandoned vehicles, with said Contract expiring on December 31,
<br />1987. She therefore, requested that the Board advertise at this
<br />time for the receipt of bids for the towing and storage of
<br />abandoned vehicles for calendar year 1988. Upon a motion made by
<br />Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the request
<br />was approved.
<br />REQUEST OF MICHIANA WATERSHED, INC. TO CONDUI
<br />RUN - MAY 14, 1988 - REFERRED
<br />T 18TH ANNUAL RIVER
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. William K. Wright, Agency
<br />Coordinator, Michiana Watershed, Inc., St. Joseph County Chapter,
<br />P.O. Box 1284, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to hold
<br />the 18th Annual River Run on Saturday, May 14, 1988. Mr. Wright
<br />advised that the River Run will begin at Leeper Park and will
<br />finish at St. Patrick's County Park with the exception of the
<br />competition classes that will start in Mishawaka instead of
<br />Leeper Park. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by
<br />Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the above request was referred to the
<br />appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and
<br />recommendation.
