14� <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 20, 1987 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 30-1987 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC <br />WORKS TO ISSUE A NEW QUIT -CLAIM DEED <br />WHEREAS, the South Bend Board of Public Works in 1982 <br />authorized the sale of certain real property located in South <br />Bend, Indiana, owned by the City of South Bend, Indiana to Evert <br />L. Riley, which property is more particularly described as <br />follows: <br />Lot 152, H. Studebaker's 2nd Addition; and <br />WHEREAS, said deed was executed by Mayor Roger 0. Parent on <br />June 4, 1982, and attested to by Irene K. Gammon, City Clerk; and <br />WHEREAS, the deed was shortly thereafter delivered to the <br />Grantee, Evert L. Riley for consideration; and <br />WHEREAS, the deed has never been recorded, and as a result <br />the property has not been placed back on the tax rolls; and <br />WHEREAS, the purpose of the sale of such lots is to return <br />the property to the tax rolls of St. Joseph County. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the South Bend Board of <br />Public Works that a duplicate Quit -Claim Deed be executed to <br />Evert L. Riley for the sale of the property known as Lot 152, H. <br />Studebaker's 2nd Addition, City of South Bend, Indiana, and that <br />said deed, when executed, be recorded by the Clerk of the Board <br />of Public Works with the St. Joseph County Recorder and that <br />Evert L. Riley be billed for the cost of recording said deed. <br />Adopted this 20th day of October, 1987, at a regular meeting <br />of the South Bend Board of Public Works. <br />SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/John E. Parmerlee, Clerk <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 31-1987 - RENAMING OF ISLAND PARK TO <br />SPECIAL OLYMPICS PARK <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that because of the commitment the City <br />made to the Special Olympics Games held in South Bend this <br />summer, Resolution No. 31-1987 authorizing the renaming of Island <br />Park to Special Olympics Park is being submitted today for <br />adoption. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the following Resolution No. 31-1987 <br />was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 31-1987 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />RENAMING ISLAND PARK TO SPECIAL OLYMPICS PARK <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend <br />is the appropriate body to give names to streets, parks and other <br />property owned by the City of South Bend, Indiana; and <br />WHEREAS, there is a portion of land owned by the City of <br />South Bend bordering the St. Joseph River on the east and Century <br />Center on the west, which land is commonly known as Island Park; <br />and <br />
