REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 20, 1987 The regular meeting of the Board of Public.Works was convened at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 1987, by President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq and Mr. Michael L. Vance present. Also present was Chief Deputy City Attorney Thomas Bodnar. AGENDA ITEM ADDED Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, a request to seek proposals for lease -purchase financing of a proposed parking facility was added to the agenda. APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance, and carried, the minutes of the October 13, 1987, regular meeting of the Board were approved. PUBLIC HEARING CONTINUED - DENIAL OF ARBORIST LICENSE - TEMPLE TREE SERVICE Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board has received a request to continue indefinitely the Public Hearing regarding the denial of an Arborist License for Mr. Walt Temple, d/b/a Temple Tree Service, 24400 Filmore Road, South Bend, Indiana. Mr. David Keckley, Attorney at Law, 315 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana, was present on behalf of his client Mr. Walt Temple, Temple Tree Service, 24440 Filmore Road, South Bend, and advised that a tentative agreement has been worked out with the City. However, until all parties can meet with the Board of Park Commissioners, he would like this Public Hearing continued indefinitely and to be reset in the near future. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, Mr. Keckley's request was approved and the Public Hearing regarding the denial of the Arborist License for Temple Tree Services was continued indefinitely. OPENING OF OUOTATIONS - TEACHER'S CREDIT UNION PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENTS Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the opening of Quotations for parking lot resurfacing and drainage improvements at the Teacher's Credit Union Parking Lot at the southwest corner of Washington and Michigan Street. The following Quotations were received and publicly opened: WALSH & KELLY, INC. 24358 State Road 23 South Bend, Indiana Quotation was submitted by Thomas 0. Walsh, President and John R. Quinn, Assistant Secretary. QUOTATION: $23,966.00 RIETH-RILEY CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. P.O. Box 1775 South Bend, Indiana 46634 Quotation was submitted by Douglas Robinson, Area Sales Manager. QUOTATION: $26,564.98 Ms. Ann Kolata, Deputy Executive Director, Department of Econmic Development, advised that this project is minimal and entails general clean-up of the condition of the parking lot to improve drainage problems.
