REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 20, 1987 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public.Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 1987, by President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq <br />and Mr. Michael L. Vance present. Also present was Chief Deputy <br />City Attorney Thomas Bodnar. <br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, a request to seek proposals for lease -purchase financing <br />of a proposed parking facility was added to the agenda. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance, and <br />carried, the minutes of the October 13, 1987, regular meeting of <br />the Board were approved. <br />PUBLIC HEARING CONTINUED - DENIAL OF ARBORIST LICENSE - TEMPLE <br />TREE SERVICE <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board has received a request to <br />continue indefinitely the Public Hearing regarding the denial of <br />an Arborist License for Mr. Walt Temple, d/b/a Temple Tree <br />Service, 24400 Filmore Road, South Bend, Indiana. <br />Mr. David Keckley, Attorney at Law, 315 South Main Street, South <br />Bend, Indiana, was present on behalf of his client Mr. Walt <br />Temple, Temple Tree Service, 24440 Filmore Road, South Bend, and <br />advised that a tentative agreement has been worked out with the <br />City. However, until all parties can meet with the Board of Park <br />Commissioners, he would like this Public Hearing continued <br />indefinitely and to be reset in the near future. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, Mr. Keckley's request was approved and the Public <br />Hearing regarding the denial of the Arborist License for Temple <br />Tree Services was continued indefinitely. <br />OPENING OF OUOTATIONS - TEACHER'S CREDIT UNION PARKING LOT <br />IMPROVEMENTS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the <br />opening of Quotations for parking lot resurfacing and drainage <br />improvements at the Teacher's Credit Union Parking Lot at the <br />southwest corner of Washington and Michigan Street. The <br />following Quotations were received and publicly opened: <br />WALSH & KELLY, INC. <br />24358 State Road 23 <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Quotation was submitted by Thomas 0. Walsh, President and <br />John R. Quinn, Assistant Secretary. <br />QUOTATION: $23,966.00 <br />RIETH-RILEY CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. <br />P.O. Box 1775 <br />South Bend, Indiana 46634 <br />Quotation was submitted by Douglas Robinson, Area Sales <br />Manager. <br />QUOTATION: $26,564.98 <br />Ms. Ann Kolata, Deputy Executive Director, Department of Econmic <br />Development, advised that this project is minimal and entails <br />general clean-up of the condition of the parking lot to improve <br />drainage problems. <br />
