�66 <br />REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 8. 1987 <br />REQUEST OF TEMPLE BETH-EL TO UTILIZE BOTH SIDES OF WEST MADISON <br />STREET FOR PARKING FOR HOLY DAY SERVICES - SEPTEMBER 23-24 AND <br />OCTOBER 2-3, 1987 - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Sharon Kalling, President, Temple <br />Beth -El, 305 West Madison Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested <br />that parking be allowed on both sides of the Temple block on West <br />Madison Street and North Lafayette Boulevard for Holy Day <br />Services as follows: <br />Wednesday September 23, 1987 8:15 p.m. <br />Thursday September 24, 1987 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. <br />Friday October 2, 1987 8:15 p.m. <br />Saturday October 3, 1987 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. <br />Ms. Kalling also requested that the Police Department be more <br />visible in the area during the above referred to times as <br />vandalism may increase. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for <br />review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CLOSE 1600 BLOCK OF DEVON CIRCLE FOR <br />NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - SEPTEMBER 13 1987 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board has received a request <br />submitted by Ms. Andrea Jones, 1608 Devon Circle, South Bend, <br />Indiana, to close the 1600 Block of Devon Circle from 4:00 p.m. <br />to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 1987, for a neighborhood <br />block party and recommend approval. Therefore, upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the <br />recommendation was accepted and the request approved. <br />PETITION FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A RESIDENTIAL PARKING ZONE <br />WEST WASHINGTON (NORTH); JEFFERSON (SOUTH); FALCON (WEST); AND <br />KALEY (EAST) - REFERRED <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that a Petition for the Establishment of <br />a Residential Parking Zone as indicated above has been submitted <br />to the Board. It was noted that this is in the area of LaSalle <br />Park. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. <br />Leszczynski and carried, the Petition was referred to the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting in order that a traffic study can be <br />conducted regarding this request. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - IRONGATE ESTATES <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Title Sheet for the above <br />referred to project, which entails sanitary sewer and water line <br />installation, was being presented at this time for execution. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the above referred to Title Sheet was approved and <br />signed. <br />FILING OF NEW TAXICAB RATES - YELLOW CAB COMPANY <br />Ms. Joann Tiedge, General Manager, Yellow Cab Company of South <br />Bend, 710 North Niles Avenue, P.O. Box 657, South Bend, Indiana, <br />advised that Yellow Cab is changing their taxicab rates and <br />effective approximately October 1, 1987, the new rates will be as <br />follows: <br />First 1/5th mile or fraction thereof $ 2.00 <br />Each Additional 1/5th mile $ .20 <br />Per hour waiting time $12.00 <br />Small Package Delivery Rates: meter rate - $3.00 minimum <br />
