6 63 REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 1, 1987 APPROVE REQUEST OF NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICES TO CONDUCT NHS 10K BIKE RIDE_- OCTOBER 10, 1987 Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to the Board on August 24, 1987 and recommend approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the recommendations were accepted and the request approved. APPROVE BLOCK PARTY REQUESTS: - 1100 & 1200 BLOCKS BELMONT - 100 BLK. E. ALTGELD STREET - 1400 BLK. WALL STREET Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the requests submitted on August 18th and 24th to conduct block parties in the 100 block of E. Altgeld Street and the 1400 block of Wall Street and recommend approval. Additionally, the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the request submitted by Ms. Vicki M. Odar, 1213 Belmont Avenue, South Bend to close the 1100 and 1200 block of Belmont Avenue from the alley west of Sunnyside to the dead end for a neighborhood block party to be conducted on Saturday, September 5, 1987 from 12:00 noon until dusk and recommend approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above recommendations were accepted and the requests approved. APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT STREET SERVICES - SEPTEMBER 1-13, 1987 Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and bureaus have reviewed the request submitted to the Board on August 24, 1987 by Ms. Dora Lottie, 2024 Pershing Street, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct street services the first two (2) weeks in September on Washington Street between Walnut and Birdsell from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and recommend approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE REQUEST OF A.B.A.T.E OF INDIANA, INC FOR TRAFFIC ASSISTANCE FOR ANNUAL M.D.A. RIDE - SEPTEMBER 6 1987 Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to the Board on August 18, 1987 and recommend approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE AND/OR RELEASE CONTRACTORS BONDS Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the following Contractors Bonds be approved and/or released: APPROVED Murdock & Sons Construction, Inc. Effective 9/1/87 Alan T. & Barbara J. Donaldson Effective 8/25/87 Carl J. Reinke & Sons, Inc. Effective 9/1/87 RELEASED Allied Construction Company Effective 9/1/87 Small, Inc. Effective 9/1/87 R.A. Lange Construction Company Effective 10/15/87 Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above Contractors Bonds were approved and/or released as indicated above.
