REGULAR MEETING JULY 21. 1987 <br />Corporation, Inc. For services, NBDC shall provide to the City <br />the sum of $3,000.00 upon execution of the Agreement and any <br />further sums to which the City and the NBDC shall agree are <br />appropriate compensation to the City for staff services <br />provided. The term of the Agreement shall be from July 14, 1987 <br />to and including December 31, 1987. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Vance, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the Agreement as <br />submitted was approved and executed. <br />AWARD BIDS - CAR WASHES FOR CITY VEHICLES FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR <br />BEGINNING AUGUST 1, 1987 AND ENDING JULY 31. 1988 <br />In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Charles T. Hurley, advised <br />that he has reviewed the three (3) bids received on July 7, 1987 <br />for the above referred to services. <br />Chief Hurley further advised that Hi -Speed was the only bidder <br />submitting a bid for full -service car wash and he is therefore <br />recommending that the City retain their services in this area <br />including, jeeps and motorcycles, in the amounts as follows: <br />Full -Service, 0-100 units/month ........... $4.00 ea. <br />Full -Service, 100 or more units/month ..... $3.75 ea. <br />Jeeps.....................................$4.50 ea. <br />Motorcycles...............................$3.50 ea. <br />It was noted that Hi -Speed offers these services at two (2) <br />locations, 609 E. LaSalle Street and 2615 Lincolnway West, <br />Mishawaka, Indiana. <br />Chief Hurley also recommended that the bid of Don's Gas and Car <br />Wash, Inc., located at 1836 South Michigan Street be accepted. <br />He stated that they bid for wet wash only in the amount of <br />$.98 each and that the services have been utilized extensively by <br />police personnel. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and <br />carried, the recommendation was accepted and the bids awarded. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF SOUTH BEND HOUSING AUTHORITY TO CLOSE 1600 <br />BLOCK CARLISLE STREET FOR BAZAAR - AUGUST 15. 1987 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to <br />the Board on July 7, 1987 and recommend approval. Therefore, <br />upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request <br />approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF SOUTH BEND SHRINE CLUB TO CLOSE SIDEWALK <br />AROUND SHRINE CLUB BUILDING AT 430 NORTH MAIN STREET FOR ANNUAL <br />CORN ROAST - AUGUST 8, 1987 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />Police Department Traffic Division and City Attorney's office <br />have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to the <br />Board on July 14, 1987 and it is being recommended that the <br />request be approved. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the recommendation <br />was accepted and the request approved. <br />DENY REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 1307. 1309 AND <br />1311 WEST WASHINGTON STREET <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that pursuant to the request received on <br />June 30, 1987 by James Husband, Hoosier Lawn & Garden, Inc., 1030 <br />Diamond Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, to purchase the above <br />referred to City -owned lots, various City departments and bureaus <br />have reviewed the request and submitted their recommendations to <br />the Board. <br />
