Hans, Estimator/Project <br />Manager, Industrial Maintenance and Urethane Foam Division. <br />QUOTATION: - $20,370.00 <br />- $ 2.75 per square ft. to replace <br />deteriorated wood decking <br />$ 0.68 per square ft. to replace <br />deteriorated insulation <br />Includes ten year written roofing guarantee <br />(labor and material), which includes free <br />annual inspections and written reports to <br />the owner. <br />Assistant Fire Chief Daniel J. Mirocha advised the Board that <br />invitations to provide quotations were sent to All Weather <br />Exteriors, South Bend Roofing, Slatile Roofing and Midland <br />Engineering. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the above quotations were referred to the Fire <br />Department for review and recommendation. <br />PUBLIC HEARING AND FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - ALLEY VACATION: 1ST <br />N/S ALLEY W. OF IRONWOOD DRIVE RUNNING SO. FROM PLEASANT TO THE <br />RIVER <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the <br />Board's Public Hearing on a proposed alley vacation described as <br />follows: <br />The 1st north/south alley west of Ironwood Drive running <br />South from Pleasant Street to the St. Joseph River for a <br />distance of 136 feet more or less. <br />It was noted that this Public Hearing is being held in order for <br />the Board to submit a recommendation to the Common Council <br />concerning the Vacation Petition filed by Ms. Mary W. Shafer, <br />2108 Pleasant Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was further noted <br />that pursuant to South Bend Municipal Code Section 18-53.8, <br />owners whose property abut the proposed alley to be vacated were <br />notified of the Board's Public Hearing date. <br />Mr. Jeff Reece, Right -Of -Way Agent for Indiana and Michigan <br />Electric Company, 2921 Lathrop Street, South Bend, Indiana, was <br />present and addressed the Board. <br />Mr. Reece advised that the alley which Mrs. Shafer desires to <br />vacate contains a major tie line between Indiana and Michigan's <br />east station and the Ireland station and is a transfer station <br />that is used during storms. Mr. Reece stated that he and Senior <br />Technician Dennis Foust, who was also present, mutually agree <br />that Indiana and Michigan Electric has no objection to the <br />vacation of the west four (4) feet or the entire length of the <br />alley with the understanding that I&M does not want a building <br />erected on the east ten (10) feet of the alley as they need that <br />portion for access. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
