1.0 <br />REGULAR MEETING MAY 26, 1987 <br />APPROVE HOUSE MOVE (FREDRICKSON HOUSE) FROM 233 NORTH LAFAYETTE <br />TO N/W CORNER OF COLFAX AND WILLIAMS STREET <br />Mr. Jack A. Mathews, Building Commissioner, has advised that <br />Lykowski Construction, Inc., House Moving Engineers, 21707 West <br />Ireland Road, South Bend, Indiana, has submitted a request for <br />approval of a new location for the moving of the Fredrickson <br />House located at 233 North Lafayette to the northwest corner of <br />Colfax and Williams Street. <br />It was noted that on February 24, 1987, the Board of Public Works <br />approved a moving permit to move the Fredrickson House to 410 <br />West Washington Street. However, the move did not take place to <br />that site. <br />Mr. Mathews advised that the route to be utilized for this move <br />is the same route previously approved. Additionally, utility <br />companies have been contacted and their requirements have been <br />satisfied. Information has been provided concerning how the <br />existing site will be left and building layouts of the relocated <br />site. Also, the appropriate Certificate of Insurance has been <br />submitted and is in order. Therefore, Mr. Mathews recommends <br />approval of the request. <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the request as submitted was approved. <br />REQUEST TO LOCATE DUMPS' <br />SIX (6) MONTHS - REFERRI <br />AT MAR -MAIN APARTMENTS FOR A PERIOD OF <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. John Freidine, 918 East Jefferson <br />Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to place a <br />dumpster for a period of six (6) months at the far northwest <br />location of the Mar -Main Apartments during a six (6) month <br />construction phase. He stated that the dumpster would occupy a <br />small portion of the street normally used for parking by <br />approximately two (2) vehicles. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request <br />was referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for <br />review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST TO CLOSE 1500 BLOCK OF INDIANA AVENUE AND SIDEWALK FOR <br />EXTRA LARGE YARD SALE - JUNE 6, 1987 - REFERRED <br />Ms. Mary Jean Hines, daughter of Mrs. Mattie Valentine, 601 West <br />Indiana Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, requested that the 1500 <br />block of Indiana Avenue to the first alley north, be closed on <br />June 6, 1987 from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Ms. Hines stated that <br />her family is having an extra large yard sale for which they <br />would like to use the sidewalk and street beside their residence. <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the above request was referred to the necessary City <br />departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST OF BR( <br />LY CHRISTIA <br />SH TO CLOSE 1400 BLOCK 0 <br />CARROLL STREET FOR NEIGHBORHOOD FESTIVAL - JUNE 20 1987 - <br />REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, the Southeast Side Neighborhood <br />Festival Committee, c/o Broadway Christian Parish, 1412 South <br />Carroll Street, South Bend, Indiana, advised that they will be <br />having their neighborhood festival on Saturday, June 20, 1987. <br />Therefore, they are requesting that the 1400 block of Carroll <br />Street, between Broadway and Haney be closed from 10:00 a.m. to <br />6:00 p.m. during the festival. They advised that the Broadway <br />Christian Parish parking lot will be set up with booths and <br />activities. The Gloria Dei Lutheran Church parking lot will be <br />used for parking. The closing of the street would be a safety <br />measure for those crossing the street to come to the festival. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the request was referred to the necessary City <br />departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. <br />1 <br />
