REGULAR MEETING MAY 5, 1987 <br />p.m. for a family reunion. Ms. Austin stated that the block in <br />question is occupied by six (6) houses, one being empty and four <br />(4) occupied by members of the Austin family. Upon a motion made <br />by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the <br />request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and <br />the Police Department Traffic Division for review and <br />recommendation. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS - SECONDHAND DEALERS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following three (3) secondhand <br />dealers license applications have been received: <br />NAME: <br />BY: <br />ADDRESS: <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING <br />NAME: <br />BY: <br />ADDRESS: <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING <br />NAME: <br />BY: <br />ADDRESS: <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: <br />Sample Simon <br />Lawrence A. Widman <br />413 East Sample Street <br />New and Used Merchandise <br />Antique World <br />Mary Ann Melching <br />1122 Mishawaka Avenue <br />Used and Antique furniture <br />Ken's Discount Sales <br />Kenneth Parritt <br />2802 West Western Avenue <br />General Merchandise <br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that favorable recommendations <br />have been received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />Department of Code Enforcement, Police Department and Fire <br />Department on the above applications. Upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above <br />license applications were approved and referred to the Deputy <br />Controller's office for issuance of licenses. <br />RUBBISH AND GARBAGE LICENSE APPLICATION TABLED FOR ONE (1) WEEK <br />AND REFERRED TO THE DEPARTMENT OF CODE ENFORCEMENT FOR REVIEW <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the Rubbish and Garage Removal license application <br />of Michael Clark, 1146 West Thomas Street, South Bend, Indiana, <br />was tabled for one (1) week and referred to the Department of <br />Code Enforcement for review. <br />APPROVE AND RELEASE EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the <br />Excavation Bond for 0. J. Shoemaker, Inc. be released effective <br />May 5, 1987 and the Excavation Bond for Knew Excavating be <br />approved retroactive to May 1, 1987. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the <br />recommendations were accepted and the above bonds released and/or <br />approved. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the Certificate of Insurance for Kaser-Spraker <br />Construction, Inc., P.O. Box 3605, South Bend, Indiana, was <br />accepted and filed. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of seventy-one (71) properties cleaned from April 27, 1987 <br />thru May 1, 1987, was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the report as <br />submitted was filed. <br />
