REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 28. 1988 <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request and petition were referred <br />to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department <br />Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />REOUEST OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY RIGHT TO LIFE. INC. TO CONDUCT <br />ANNUAL MARCH - JANUARY 23, 1989 - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board Ms. Cynthia Simmons advised that on <br />behalf of the St. Joseph County Right to Life, Inc. she would <br />like permission to conduct the annual St. Joseph County Right to <br />Life March on January 23, 1989 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. along <br />the route submitted with the request. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the request <br />was referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for <br />review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL PARKING AND SECURITY FOR PERFORMANCE AT <br />MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM - DECEMBER 7, 1988 - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board Mr. Dale E. Balsbaugh, Morris Civic <br />Auditorium, advised that on December 7, 1988, the American <br />Theatre Arts for Youth, Inc. will present "Babes in Toyland" for <br />two (2) performances at the Morris Civic Auditorium at 9:00 a.m. <br />and 12:00 noon for local school children. It is estimated that <br />approximately fifty (50) school buses will be transporting the <br />children to the first show with another thirty (30) buses for the <br />second show. <br />Mr. Balsbaugh informed the Board that Center City Associates has <br />agreed to make the Park Free Lot available that day and the <br />Department of Redevelopment has made available the lots along the <br />East Race. He is requesting that additional officers be <br />available to insure the security and timeliness of unloading the <br />children at these specified lots and walking them to the theatre. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the above request was referred to the appropriate <br />City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE RECOMMENDATION OF AFFIRMATIVE ACTION REVIEW COMMITTEE <br />The Affirmative Action Review Committee advised the Board that <br />after a complete review, they found that the following companies <br />have met the requirements of the South Bend Affirmative Action <br />Ordinance and it is recommended that these companies be approved <br />as qualified City bidders: <br />1. A.H. Choitz Company, Inc. <br />2. MacDonald Machinery Company <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the applications <br />approved. <br />ACCEPT AND APPROVE AMENDED IRREVOCABLE LETTERS OF CREDIT - CROSS <br />CREEK, INC. <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Trustcorp Bank, P.O. Box 6, South <br />Bend, Indiana, has advised that they have amended their <br />Irrevocable Letters of Credit as follows: <br />Irrevocable Letter of Credit No. S-8658 - <br />1. Amount shall be $13,343.60 instead of $30,030.20. <br />2. Expiry shall be May 30, 1989 instead of November 30, 1988. <br />All other terms and conditions remain unchanged. <br />
