REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 7, 1988 <br />Bend, Indiana,; requested permission to use the-` fol°lowing public <br />buildings=+'far-_voting purposes for the General Election=on <br />November 8, 1988: <br />1. <br />Fire <br />Station <br />#2 <br />8. <br />Potawatomi Greenhouse <br />2. <br />Fire <br />Station <br />#3 <br />9. <br />Pinhook Pavilion <br />3. <br />4. <br />Fire <br />Fire <br />Station <br />Station <br />#5 <br />#6 <br />10. <br />,;;11,.'-Erskine <br />Leeper Park Tennis Center <br />Park Club House <br />5. <br />Fire <br />Station <br />#7 <br />12. <br />LaSalle Recreation Center <br />6. <br />Fire <br />Station <br />#9 <br />13. <br />Martin Luther King Center <br />7. <br />Fire <br />Station <br />#10 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the request was approved. <br />REQUEST FOR DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE AT 436 SOUTH <br />GRANT STREET - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, -Mrs. C. Grybowich, 436"South-Grant <br />Street, South -Bend; Indianaj requested that ---the parking space in <br />front of her residence be designated,as a handicappedr`parking <br />space. Mrs. Grybowich advised that she is seventy-six (76) years <br />old, has trouble walking and is unable- to, utilize;-,the'=parking" <br />space in front- of her" home 3due�to its use -,by other r6.9denta_aof <br />the neighborhood. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the request was referred <br />to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department <br />Traffic: -,,Division for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT HOLIDAY PARADE - NOVEMBER 12, 1988 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs'DeClercq <br />and carried, the above referred to request, submitted to the <br />Board on October 17, 1988, was approved subject to the receipt of <br />approval from the State of Indiana for a portion of the parade <br />route which will utilize state public right-of-way. <br />DENY RUBBISH AND GARBAGE REMOVAL LICENSE APPLICATIONS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that submitted to the Board today are <br />Rubbish and Garbage Removal license applications from the <br />following: <br />1. Willie Payne <br />114 West Walnut Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />2. Wilford Smith <br />1614 Longley Avenue <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />3. James Scott <br />2629 Newcome <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, advised that the Department of Code Enforcement has <br />been reviewing these licenseapplications and recommends that <br />these applications be denied at this time. She further advised <br />that these applicants were called to the attention of the <br />Department of Code Enforcement because trash trucks were being <br />parked on the street or residential lots with trash in the <br />trucks. The applicants were notified of the license requirements <br />and were told that they could not park a loaded trash truck in an <br />"A" residential zone. Based on information received that these <br />violations continue, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the license <br />applications as indicated above be denied. Mr. Leszczynski <br />seconded the motion and it carried. <br />
