REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 26, 1988 <br />CONTRACTORS BONDS <br />- Consolidated Construction <br />Effective retroactive to <br />of South Bend, Indiana <br />9/20/88 <br />The Robert Henry Corporation <br />Effective retroactive to 9/22/88 <br />EXCAVATION BOND <br />- Dick Helfman Plumbing & Heating, <br />Effective retroactive to 9/20/88 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the recommendations were accepted and the bonds <br />approved. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION, 1 HR. PARKING 6A - 6P - 231 S. Eddy <br />& Wayne Street. (New business to provide curb <br />space turnover). <br />2. REVISED TO NO PARKING - Service Ct. 5, extend No <br />Parking curb 40' South. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of one hundred twenty-four (124) properties cleaned from <br />August 31, 1988 to September 20, 1988, was submitted. Upon a <br />motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the report as submitted was filed. <br />FILING OF APPLICATION FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following application for bidder qualification <br />was accepted for filing and referred to the Affirmative Action <br />Review Committee for review and recommendation: <br />1. Gates Chevrolet Corporation <br />401 South Lafayette Boulevard <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Chief Deputy City Controller John D. Leisenring, submitted Claim <br />Docket No. 13699 through Claim Docket No. 13983 and recommended <br />approval. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. <br />Leszczynski and carried, the claims were approved and the report <br />filed. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR: <br />UESTIONS AND CONCERNS REGARDING I/N TEK STEEL PLANT CONSTRUCTION <br />AND SELECTION OF DIRECTOR OF WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT <br />Mr. Leszczynski responded to questions from the new media <br />regarding the I/N Tek Steel Plant construction project and the <br />selection of a Director for the Wastewater Treatment Plant by <br />advising that the County is handling the I/N Tek project and that <br />a new Director of the Wastewater Treatment Plant will be named <br />either at the end of this week or the first of next. <br />�7, <br />1 <br />E <br />
