it 2 <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 29, 1988 <br />informed the Board that the Redevelopment Commission still owns <br />the land on which the Marriott Hotel/1st Source Center is built <br />and the term of the skywalk agreement submitted today is the same <br />as the lease of the land. <br />Ms. Kolata advised the Board that the Century Center Board of <br />Managers and the Redevelopment Commission have already executed <br />the Agreement and it must now be approved and executed by lst <br />Source Corporation, South Bend Joint Venture and The Aetna <br />Casualty and Surety Company as well as the Board of Public Works. <br />Ms. Kolata also advised that some time in the near future the <br />Redevelopment Commission will be conveying the skywalk to the <br />City of South Bend. <br />There being no further questions regarding this matter, upon a <br />motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and <br />carried, the Agreement as submitted was approved and executed. <br />APPROVE PURCHASE AGREEMENT - SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 614 <br />SOUTH COLUMBIA STREET <br />In accordance with the bid awarded on July 25, 1988, for the <br />purchase of the City -owned lot at 614 South Columbia Street in <br />the amount of $275.00 to Ms. Sandra P. Kieffer for Kieffer and <br />Zimpelman Partnership, 17700 Woodthrush, South Bend, Indiana, the <br />Purchase Agreement was being submitted at this time for Board <br />approval. Upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mr. <br />Leszczynski and carried, the Purchase Agreement was approved and <br />the matter referred to the City Attorney's office for drafting of <br />the appropriate Quit -Claim Deed. <br />APPROVE RIGHT-OF-WAY CERTIFICATION - PORTAGE AVENUE INTERSECTION <br />IMPROVEMENTS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director, <br />Division of Engineering, has submitted to the Board for approval <br />and execution a letter to the Chief, Division of Land <br />Acquisition, Indiana Department of Highways, State Office <br />Building, Indianapolis, Indiana, concerning Right -of -Way <br />Certification for the Portage Avenue Intersection Improvements <br />project which involves two (2) intersections on Portage Avenue. <br />The Certification indicates that the project is being programmed <br />for participation in Federal Aid with respect to construction <br />costs and this Certification is to certify that the right-of-way <br />status of this Federal Aid Construction project is that no <br />additional right-of-way was required for this construction <br />project and it will be constructed within the limits of existing <br />right-of-way and that no buildings or relocation are involved. <br />Therefore, this right-of-way is clear for construction contract <br />letting. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the Right -of -Way Certification as outlined above was <br />approved and executed. <br />APPROVE INSPECTOR ASSIGNMENT - PORTAGE AVENUE INTERSECTION <br />IMPROVEMENTS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director, <br />Division of Engineering, has submitted to the Board a letter <br />addressed to Mr. John P. Isenbarger, Director, Indiana Department <br />of Highways, State Office Building, Indianapolis, Indiana, <br />advising him of the project engineer, assistant project engineer <br />and inspectors for the Portage Avenue Intersection Improvements <br />Project. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. <br />DeClercq and carried, the letter as submitted was approved and <br />signed by the Board to be forwarded to the State. <br />
