REGULAR MEETING JUNE 20, 1988 <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS SALE OF <br />ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale of <br />approximately twenty-eight (28) abandoned vehicles, which are <br />being stored at South Bend Auto Parts storage lot at 218 South <br />Grant Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all <br />vehicles have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, <br />identification checks had been run for auto theft and the owners <br />and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, <br />seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the above request was <br />approved and a date of July 11, 1988 was established for the <br />receiving and opening of sealed bids. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 505 STUDEBKAER - <br />REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Brad C. Marks, 613 Sherman, South <br />Bend, Indiana, advised that he is interested in purchasing the <br />City -owned property at 505 Studebaker which is next door to <br />property which he is managing at 501 Studebaker. Upon a motion <br />made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the <br />request was referred to the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus in order that a determination can be made of whether or <br />not the City need retain the property for any reason. <br />REQUEST OF YELLOW CAB COMPANY FOR TAXICAB STAND ON THE NORTH SIDE <br />OF THE 200 BLOCK OF WEST WASHINGTON STREET NEAR ENTRANCE OF <br />HOLIDAY INN - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Charles P. Ryder, Supervisor, <br />Yellow Cab Company of South Bend, 710 North Niles Avenue, P.O. <br />Box 657, South Bend, Indiana, advised that the Yellow Cab Company <br />formually requests a taxicab stand to be located on the north <br />side of the 200 block of West Washington Street close to the <br />entrance to the downtown Holiday Inn. Mr. Ryder stated that they <br />would appreciate two (2) parking spaces at that location, but one <br />(1) will fulfil their needs. Upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the above <br />request was referred to the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY CHAPTER OF THE NATIONAL CHILD SAFETY <br />COUNCIL TO CONDUCT INTERSECTION SOLICITATIONS - JULY 9. 1988 - <br />REFERRED <br />Mr. Jeff Jennings, Safety Coordinator, St. Joseph County Chapter <br />of the National Child Safety Council, P.O. Box 7878, Notre Dame, <br />Indiana, requested permission to conduct intersection <br />solicitations on Saturday, July 9, 1988 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 <br />p.m. at the following intersections: <br />1. Western and Sheridan <br />2. Michigan and Angela <br />3. Jefferson and Ironwood <br />4. Ireland and York <br />5. LaSalle and Hill <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the request was referred to the appropriate City <br />departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. <br />FILING OF APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION/CERTIFICATION <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following applications for bidder qualification/ <br />certification were accepted for filing and referred to the <br />Affirmative Action Review Committee for review and <br />recommendation: <br />
