<br />REQUEST OF PARKVIEW TAVERN TO CLOSE ALLEY ADJACENT TO BUSINESS
<br />FOR ANNUAL HOG ROAST - JUNE 24, 1988 - REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Todd Ullery, Manager and Owner, The
<br />Parkview Tavern, 515 East Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend,
<br />Indiana, requested permission to block off the alley adjacent to
<br />Niles Avenue, between Balloons & More and the Parkview Tavern on
<br />Saturday, June 24, 1988 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. until
<br />closing, in conjunction with the annual hog roast to be held this
<br />date. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs.
<br />DeClercq and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of
<br />Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division
<br />for review and recommendation
<br />REQUEST TO CLOSE THE 700-800 BLOCKS OF SYLVAN LANE FOR
<br />NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - JULY 4, 1988 - REFERRED
<br />Ms. Diane Bilinski, 720 Lombardy, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />submitted to the Board a Petition signed by residents of the
<br />700-800 blocks of Sylvan Lane requesting that the 700-800 blocks
<br />of Sylvan Lane be closed from 12:00 noon until 12:00 midnight on
<br />July 4, 1988 for a neighborhood block party. Ms. Bilinski also
<br />advised that three (3) residents chose not to sign the Petition
<br />to close the street. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs.
<br />DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the request
<br />was referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for
<br />review and recommendation.
<br />REQUEST TO CLOSE THE 1500-1700 BLOCKS OF SUNNYMEDE AVENUE FOR
<br />NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - JULY 3. 1988 - REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. John F. Waldron, 1632 Sunnymede
<br />Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to close the
<br />1500-1700 blocks of Sunnymede Avenue, from Twyckenham to
<br />Greenlawn Street, for a neighborhood block party on Sunday, July
<br />3, 1988, (raindate of Monday, July 4, 1988) from 10:00 a.m. to
<br />6:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau
<br />of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic
<br />Division for review and recommendation.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF
<br />ABANDONED VEHICLES
<br />Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code
<br />Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale of
<br />approximately thirty-three (33) abandoned vehicles, which are
<br />being stored at South Bend Auto Parts property at 218 South Grant
<br />Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles have
<br />been stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks
<br />had been run for auto theft and the owners and lienholders
<br />notified. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms.
<br />Humphreys and carried, the above request was approved and a date
<br />of June 20, 1988, was established for the receiving and opening
<br />of sealed bids.
<br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq
<br />and carried, the following five (5) traffic control devices were
<br />approved:
<br />1. NEW INSTALLATION, NO PARKING - Fassnacht, 1400 Block.
<br />(Requested by South Bend Police Department).
