Brandt) <br />WNDU-TV--For Kid's Sake (Karen Heisler) <br />APPROVE LETTER OF CREDIT - JACK HICKEY, INC. (SECTION VI, PART I, <br />KENSINGTON FARMS EAST) <br />Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director, Division of Engineering and Mr. <br />Melvin B. Humphrey, Bureau of Design and Construction, submitted <br />to the Board a Letter of Credit from Jack Hickey, Inc., on behalf <br />of the City of South Bend as a guarantee to complete construction <br />of all public improvements stated in said letter within the <br />limits of Section VI, Part I, Kensington Farms East Subdivision. <br />Mr. Meeks and Mr. Humphrey stated that this acceptance will allow <br />the plat dedication to proceed and building construction to take <br />place prior to the completion of the public improvements required <br />by the developer. <br />Irrevocable Letter of Credit No. 536, submitted to the Board <br />today, was completed by Valley American Bank, P.O. Box 328, South <br />Bend, Indiana and is in the amount of $18,000.00. The Letter of <br />Credit indicates that it is given to warrant the guarantee and <br />completion of public improvements including but not limited to <br />water, sanitary sewer, storm sewers, curbs, streets, sidewalks <br />and street lighting in Section VI, Part 1, Kensington Farms East. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, Irrevocable Letter of Credit No. 536 was accepted <br />and approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - ONE (1) <br />TYPE I, FULLY EQUIPPED MODULAR AMBULANCE <br />In a letter to the Board, Fire Chief Luther Taylor advised that a <br />recent decision to expand the Emergency Medical Services requires <br />another vehicle with equipment. Therefore, Chief Taylor <br />requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for <br />one (1) type I, fully equipped modular ambulance. Chief Taylor <br />1 <br />r <br />
