St. Peter St. <br />South Bend, Indiana 46617 <br />Vehicle No. 11 $50.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the bids as indicated above were awarded. <br />12113MN:0 *11 m- <br />N/S ALLEY E. 0 <br />Mr. Leszczynsk <br />Board's Public <br />follows: <br />FAVORABLE REC <br />PORTAGE RUNNING NORTH <br />advised that this was <br />Hearing on a proposed <br />ON - ALLEY VACATION: 1E <br />TO <br />the date set for the <br />alley vacation described as <br />The lst north/south alley east of Portage running <br />north from Elwood to King Street for a distance of <br />120 feet all being in Northwest 2nd Add. to the City <br />of St. Joseph County, Inc. <br />It was noted that this Public Hearing is being held in order for <br />the Board to submit a recommendation to the Common Council <br />concerning the Vacation Petition filed by Mr. Robert Kochmar, <br />1406 Portage Avenue, South Bend, Indiana and Mr. Leonard Luther, <br />1402 Portage Avenue, South Bend, Indiana. It was further noted <br />that pursuant to South Bend Municipal Code Section 18-53.8, <br />owners whose property abut the proposed alley to be vacated as <br />well as property owners within fifty (50) feet of the alley to be <br />vacated were notified of the Board's Public Hearing date. <br />Mr. Robert Kochmar, Petitioner, 1406 Portage Avenue, South Bend, <br />Indiana, addressed the Board and stated that the alley, if <br />vacated, will be blacktopped and used for parking. Mr. Kochmar <br />also advised that he and Mr. Leonard Luther, Co -Petitioner, own <br />all the land abutting the alley and that Mr. Luther is in <br />agreement to the closing of the alley for this purpose. <br />There being no one else present wishing to speak either for or <br />against the proposed alley vacation, and no written objections <br />having been filed with the Board, upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the Public <br />Hearing on this matter was closed. <br />Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the Clerk forward to <br />the Common Council a favorable recommendation on the above <br />referred to alley vacation subject to any and all utility <br />easements. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion and it carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING AND FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - ALLEY VACATION: E/W <br />ALLEY SOUTH OF RIVERSIDE RUNNING E. FROM LELAND <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the <br />Board's Public Hearing on a proposed alley vacation described as <br />follows: <br />The east/west alley south of Riverside Street, running <br />east from Leland Avenue to Forest Avenue between Lots <br />37 and 38 of Chapin Place by Edward P. Chapin and Lots <br />16 and 17 of Shetterly Place 1st excepting the 16 <br />foot north/south alley intersection. <br />It was noted that this Public Hearing is being held in order for <br />the Board to submit a recommendation to the Common Council <br />concerning the Vacation Petition filed by David B. Dunbar, 857 <br />Forest Avenue, South Bend, Indiana and James A. and Christine D. <br />Serwatka, 853 Forest Avenue, South Bend, Indiana.
