REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 16, 1988 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:32 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 1988, by President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq <br />and Ms. Katherine Humphreys present. Also present was Board <br />Attorney Marva J. Leonard -Dent. <br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the matter of the City's participation in the Lung <br />Walk was added to the agenda. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the minutes of the May 9, 1988, regular meeting of <br />the Board were approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - TEACHERS CREDIT UNION PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENTS <br />PROJECT (S.W. CORNER OF WASHINGTON & MICHIGAN) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for receiving <br />and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South <br />Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be <br />sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />WALSH & KELLY, INC. <br />24358 State Road 23 <br />South Bend, Indiana 46614 <br />Bid was signed by Thomas 0. Walsh, President, Non -Collusion <br />Affidavit was in order and a 5% Bid Bond was submitted. <br />BID: $25,080.50 <br />RIETH-RILEY CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. <br />P.O. Box 1775 <br />South Bend, Indiana 46634 <br />Bid was signed by Kenneth G. Noble, Sales Manager, Non - <br />Collusion Affidavit was in order and a 5% Bid Bond was <br />submitted. <br />BID: $27,587.08 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the bids were referred to the Engineering Department <br />and the Department of Economic Development for review and <br />recommendation. <br />OPENING AND AWARD OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the sale of approximately thirteen (13) abandoned vehicles <br />which have been stored at South Bend Auto Parts, 307 West Calvert <br />Street, South Bend, Indiana. The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient.
