REGULAR MEETING MAY 2, 1988 <br />Popielski in the amount of $177.50 which is one-half (1/2) of the <br />appraised value of the property. Therefore, upon a motion made <br />by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the <br />Clerk was instructed to advise Mr. Popielski of the Board's <br />counter offer for this property. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following five (5) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. REMOVAL OF 2-WAY STOP SIGN, REVISED TO 4-WAY STOP <br />SIGN - Cedar & St. Louis. (Requested by Mayor). <br />2. NEW INSTALLATION, NO PARKING - 700 Cotter Street, <br />131' East of Prairie. (Requested by South Bend <br />Supply & Martins Warehouse). <br />3. NEW INSTALLATION, STOP SIGN - On Abshire at Berkshire. <br />(Uncontrolled "T"). <br />4. NEW INSTALLATION, STOP SIGN - On Raleigh Dr. at <br />Berkshire. (Uncontrolled "T"). <br />5. NEW INSTALLATION, DON'T DRIVE DRUNK - 3600 Western. <br />(Gene Klosinski Music Studio). <br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMIT <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following one (1) handicapped parking permit <br />application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's <br />office for issuance of a permit: <br />1. Edna M. Bock <br />1405 Berkley, Mish. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - TEACHER'S CREDIT UNION PARKING LOT PROJECT <br />(SW CORNER OF WASHINGTON AND MICHIGAN STREETS) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Title Sheet for the above <br />referred to project was being presented at this time for <br />execution. He reminded Board members that Quotations for this <br />project were opened by the Board on April 4, 1988, but due to the <br />fact that Quotations received were over $25,000.00 the Board will <br />seek bids for the completion of this project. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the <br />above referred to Title Sheet was approved and signed. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTORS AND EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering <br />Department, recommended that the following Contractors and <br />Excavation Bonds be approved as indicated below: <br />CONTRACTORS <br />- Portage Construction Co., Inc. Eff. 5/2/88 <br />- Neal P. & Pamela A. Mulchrone Eff. Retroactive to 4/27/88 <br />EXCAVATION <br />- David L. Schrock Excavating Co. Eff. Retroactive to 4/25/88 <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the recommendation of Mr. Humphrey was accepted and <br />the above bonds were approved as indicated above. <br />
