REGULAR MEETING APRIL 25, 1988 motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the above request was approved and a date of May 9, 1988, was established for the receiving and opening of sealed bids. REQUEST TO CLOSE PORTION OF EAST WAYNE STREET FOR NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - REFERRED In a letter to the Board, Mr. Rubin A. Sullivan, 1118 East Wayne Street, South Bend, Indiana, advised that the residents of East Wayne Street are planning a neighborhood picnic over the Memorial Day weekend and they would therefore like the following portion of East Wayne Street closed from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, 1988 (rain date Monday, May 30th): - From 1118 East Wayne Street to the corner of East Wayne Street South and Sunnyside; - From East Wayne Street North (1204 E. Wayne N.) on the curve of the island to East Wayne Street South (1203 E. Wayne Street). Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the above referred to request was referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recom- mendation. REQUEST OF WEST SIDE MEMORIAL DAY COMMITTEE TO CONDUCT MEMORIAL Y PARADE - MAY 30 1988 - REFERRED In a letter to the Board, Ms. Adeline Waslicki-Jaskowiak, Secretary, West Side Memorial Committee, advised that the West .Side Memorial Day Committee requests permission to conduct the annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 30, 1988. Mrs. Jaskowiak further advised that the parade will assemble at 8:00 a.m. at Olive and Ford Street and will move out at 8:30 a.m. proceeding West on Ford Street past Pierre Navarre School to disband at Summit Drive. Ms. Jaskowiak stated that the parade will last approximately one and one-half hours. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request was referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. APPROVE TITLE SHEETS Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the following Title Sheets were approved and signed: 1. Intersection Improvements at Miami & Jackson and at Ironwood & Ewing 2. I/N Tek Sanitary Sewer Extension Project (lift station construction) APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BOND Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the Contractor's Bond for C. Wardlow Construction be approved retroactive to April 18, 1988. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the bond approved. FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a total of thirty-eight (38) properties cleaned from April 15, 1988 to April 21, 1988 was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the report as submitted was filed.
