Box <br />259, Leesburg, New Jersey, has advised that they choose not to <br />submit a bid at this time for street materials for the City of <br />South Bend. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the above bids were referred to the Street <br />Department for review and recommendation. <br />Mr. James Wensits, Reporter, South Bend Tribune, inquired of Mr. <br />Leszczynski how much money will be spent for street materials for <br />1988 and the funding source. Mr. Leszczynski advised Mr. Wensits <br />that those two items have not yet been decided but with the <br />opening of bids today, things will come together. Mr. <br />Leszczynski further advised that the City is refining the list of <br />projects that need to be completed. In response to Mr. Wensits' <br />inquiry of whether the City intends to have private contractors <br />handle paving projects, Mr. Leszczynski advised that the City <br />will continue to handle paving projects as in the past. Mr. <br />Leszczynski and Ms. Humphreys also stated that last year's paving <br />program was exceptional and it is anticipated that this year's <br />program will be about two-thirds of last year's. Mr. Leszczynski <br />further clarified for Mr. Wensits that funds for the street <br />department budget do not come from one source but come from <br />various sources including local roads and streets fund, community <br />development and other funding sources available. Mr. Wensits <br />again inquired what amount of money is available and from what <br />sources and Ms. Humphreys advised that that information should be <br />available in a couple of weeks. <br />receiving of sealed Proposals for debt collection services for <br />past due ambulance accounts for the South Bend Fire Department. <br />0 <br />Ij <br />LJ <br />
