Me <br />REGULAR MEETING APRIL 11, 1988 <br />REQUEST OF ST. ADALBERT'S PARISH TO CONDUCT ANNUAL CORVILLA RUN <br />- JULY 10, 1988 - REFERRED <br />Mrs. DeClercq advised that Mr. Chris Borkowski, Race Director, <br />1988 St. Adalbert/Corvilla Run, 2420 West Huron Street, South <br />Bend, Indiana, requested permission to conduct the annual St <br />Adalbert/Corvilla footrace fundraiser on Sunday, July 10, 1988. <br />Mr. Borkowski advised that the race will begin at 6:00 p.m. and <br />be completed at approximately 8:00 p.m. He further advised that <br />this event in the past has averaged two hundred (200) runners <br />and an equal amount of spectators in a centralized location. <br />Submitted along with the request was a map of the route to be <br />utilized for the run. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, <br />seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the request was referred <br />to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation. <br />Ms. Katherine Humphreys, Director, Department of Administration <br />and Finance, requested that the Board advertise for the receipt <br />of Proposals for lease purchase services. She stated that the <br />City is anticipating delivery of a rescue rig for the Fire <br />Department with the total cost of the rig and the amount that <br />would be considered for the lease purchase being $97,325.44. <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the request was approved. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTORS AND EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Mrs. DeClercq advised that Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering <br />Department, has recommended that the following Contractors and <br />Excavation Bonds be approved: <br />CONTRACTORS <br />- Phil Albert Concrete Retroactive to 4/5/88 <br />- T. J. Ready & Sons Retroactive to 4/5/88 <br />EXCAVATION <br />- Bradberry Brothers, Inc. Effective 4/11/88 <br />- Two Guys Plumbing Retroactive to 4/4/88 <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the above <br />referred to bonds were approved. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of twenty-one (21) properties cleaned from April 1, 1988 <br />to April 7, 1988 was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the report as <br />submitted was filed. <br />FILING OF STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT - MARCH <br />Mrs. DeClercq advised that Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director, <br />Division of Engineering, has advised that the month of March had <br />two hundred thirty-five (235) street light outages. This number <br />included a complete city inspection for street light outages. <br />The average street light repair was five (5) days after being <br />reported and the standard deviation was three (3). Therefore, <br />upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the report as submitted was filed. <br />
