Me REGULAR MEETING APRIL 11, 1988 REQUEST OF ST. ADALBERT'S PARISH TO CONDUCT ANNUAL CORVILLA RUN - JULY 10, 1988 - REFERRED Mrs. DeClercq advised that Mr. Chris Borkowski, Race Director, 1988 St. Adalbert/Corvilla Run, 2420 West Huron Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to conduct the annual St Adalbert/Corvilla footrace fundraiser on Sunday, July 10, 1988. Mr. Borkowski advised that the race will begin at 6:00 p.m. and be completed at approximately 8:00 p.m. He further advised that this event in the past has averaged two hundred (200) runners and an equal amount of spectators in a centralized location. Submitted along with the request was a map of the route to be utilized for the run. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the request was referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. Ms. Katherine Humphreys, Director, Department of Administration and Finance, requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of Proposals for lease purchase services. She stated that the City is anticipating delivery of a rescue rig for the Fire Department with the total cost of the rig and the amount that would be considered for the lease purchase being $97,325.44. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the request was approved. APPROVE CONTRACTORS AND EXCAVATION BONDS Mrs. DeClercq advised that Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, has recommended that the following Contractors and Excavation Bonds be approved: CONTRACTORS - Phil Albert Concrete Retroactive to 4/5/88 - T. J. Ready & Sons Retroactive to 4/5/88 EXCAVATION - Bradberry Brothers, Inc. Effective 4/11/88 - Two Guys Plumbing Retroactive to 4/4/88 Upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the above referred to bonds were approved. FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a total of twenty-one (21) properties cleaned from April 1, 1988 to April 7, 1988 was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the report as submitted was filed. FILING OF STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT - MARCH Mrs. DeClercq advised that Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director, Division of Engineering, has advised that the month of March had two hundred thirty-five (235) street light outages. This number included a complete city inspection for street light outages. The average street light repair was five (5) days after being reported and the standard deviation was three (3). Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the report as submitted was filed.
