REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 21, 1988 <br />4. NEW INSTALLATION, STOP SIGN - On Bryan at Cushing. <br />(Uncontrolled "T"). <br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the following one (1) handicapped parking permit <br />application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's <br />office for issuance of a permit: <br />1. Helen A. Manuszak <br />1322 Chimes Blvd., S.B. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of twenty-six (26) properties cleaned from March 11, 1988 <br />to March 17, 1988, was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the report as <br />submitted was filed. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. Juan Manigault, Executive Director, St. Joseph County Job <br />Training Program submitted a list containing forty-nine (49) <br />claims and recommended approval. Additionally, Chief Deputy <br />Controller John D. Leisenring, submitted Claim Docket No. 5482 <br />through Claim Docket No. 5729 and Claim Docket No. 5797 through <br />Claim Docket No. 6125 and recommended approval. Upon a motion <br />made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, <br />the claims were approved and the reports as submitted were filed. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR: <br />QUESTIONS REGARDING COMPANY PAINTING STREET NUMBERS ON CURBS <br />In response to a question from the news media regarding the <br />Company that has been painting street numbers on curbs for a fee, <br />Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, advised that her office did not receive any phone <br />calls during the last week regarding this operation. <br />Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar advised that he has written the <br />company a letter outlining the steps necessary to operate this <br />type of business in the City of South Bend. He stated that some <br />of those requirements are insurance, prior written approval of <br />the homeowner and the hours the business will be conducted. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and <br />carried, the meeting adjourned at 9:47 a.m. <br />ATT T: <br />Sandra M.
