REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 8, 1988 <br />requesting permission to conduct its 18th Annual WalkAmerica on <br />Saturday, April 23, 1988. Ms. Dolde submitted with the request <br />the route proposed for the walk which is the same as utilized <br />last year. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. <br />Humphreys and carried, request was referred to the appropriate <br />City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE - 1329 WEST <br />FISHER STREET - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mrs. Eleanor Taylor, 1329 West Fisher <br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested that the parking space in <br />front of her residence be designated as a handicapped parking <br />space. Mrs. Taylor advised that her husband is totally disabled <br />and currently has a state handicapped permit. She further <br />advised that parking in front of her residence is hampered due to <br />residents of apartments in the neighborhood utilizing more than <br />one parking space and the proximity of her residence to the St. <br />Casimir's parish. Mrs. DeClercq stated that these types of <br />requests are reviewed by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and <br />therefore, she made a motion that the request be referred to the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. <br />Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion and it carried. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - RUBBISH AND GARBAGE <br />Mrs. DeClercq advised that the Board is in receipt of a Rubbish <br />and Garbage license application submitted by Mr. Sylvester <br />Mullins, 115 South Cherry Street, South Bend, Indiana. Mrs. <br />DeClercq stated that the application is in order and the location <br />of the operation is properly zoned. It was noted that an <br />inspection of the truck to be used had been conducted by the <br />Solid Waste Bureau and the applicant was found to be in <br />compliance. Upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by <br />Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the license application was approved <br />and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance of a <br />license. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS - SECONDHAND DEALERS <br />Mrs. DeClercq advised that the following two (2) secondhand <br />dealers license applications have been received: <br />NAME: RED'S PAWN SHOP, INC. <br />BY: Stephen A. Krupnik <br />ADDRESS: 1072 Lincolnway East <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: Unredeemed pledges <br />NAME: CLASSIC BOUTIQUE CONSIGNMENT <br />BY: Ethel Anderson <br />ADDRESS: 2518 Western Avenue <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: Used furniture & miscellaneous <br />Mrs. DeClercq further advised that favorable recommendations have <br />been received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, Department <br />of Code Enforcement, Police Department and Fire Department on the <br />above applications. Upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, <br />seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the above license <br />applications were approved and referred to the Deputy <br />Controller's office for issuance of licenses. <br />FILING OF APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER UALIFICATION/CERTIFICATION <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, Applications for Bidder Qualification/Certification <br />for the following were accepted for filing: <br />
