REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 8. 1988 <br />LA SALLE PARK DISTRICT COUNCIL, INC. <br />LA SALLE-FILLMORE NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER <br />The targeted goal for this activity is to be open 240 days <br />for public access to the Center and the services it <br />provides. The total cost of this activity shall not exceed <br />$11,000.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the above referred to Community Development <br />Contracts were approved and executed. <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 3-1988 - SCRAP METAL/JUNK DEALERS/TRANSFER <br />STATION LICENSE RENEWALS <br />Mrs. DeClercq advised that seventeen (17) applications for Scrap <br />Metal/Junk Dealers/Transfer Station licenses for 1988 have been <br />received. After inspections by the Department of Code <br />Enforcement and the Fire Department Prevention Bureau, it has <br />been determined that all are in compliance and meet Municipal <br />Code requirements and approval is recommended. <br />Mrs. DeClercq noted, however, that Hurwich Iron Company at 1602 <br />South Lafayette is in the process of installing fencing along the <br />railroad track to the west of their yard and have filed a Letter <br />of Commitment indicating that the fencing will be completed by <br />April 1, 1988. The Letter of Commitment is attached and made a <br />part of their application. <br />Mrs. DeClercq further advised that Resolution No. 3-1988 <br />submitted to the Board today for adoption advises the Common <br />Council that all necessary inspections have been made and all <br />applicants comply with ordinance requirements. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. <br />DeClercq and carried, the following Resolution No. 3-1988 was <br />adopted and the Clerk was instructed to forward said Resolution <br />to the Common Council for their favorable consideration: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3-1988 <br />WHEREAS, scrap metal/junk dealers/transfer stations license <br />renewal applications for the year 1988 have been received by the <br />Board of Public Works; and <br />WHEREAS, inspections of the properties have been completed <br />by the Department of Code Enforcement and the Fire Prevention <br />Bureau as required by Chapter 4, Article 4, Section 4-51 of the <br />Municipal Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Code Enforcement and the Fire <br />Prevention Bureau have found that such premises are fit and <br />proper for the maintenance and operation of such businesses; and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 4, Article 4, Section 4-51 of the Municipal <br />Code requires adoption of a Resolution of the Board of Public <br />Works recommending the renewal of the license applications. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that the license renewal <br />applications for the following be recommended favorably based <br />upon the satisfactory review of the properties by the Department <br />of Code Enforcement and the Fire Prevention Bureau: <br />
