REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 25, 1988 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:33 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 1988, by President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq <br />and Ms. Katherine Humphreys present. Also present was Chief <br />Deputy City Attorney Thomas Bodnar. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys, <br />and carried, the minutes of the January 19, 1988, regular meeting <br />of the Board were approved. <br />OPENING AND AWARD OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the sale of approximately twenty-nine (29) abandoned vehicles <br />which have been stored at Steve and Gene's Auto & Truck Salvage <br />and Repair, 3109 South Gertrude Street, South Bend, Indiana. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend <br />Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be <br />sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />Ms. Cynthia Stremme <br />25267 S.R. 2 <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Vehicle No. 23 $51.05 <br />Mr. Charles E. Teske <br />54830 Pear Road <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Vehicles No. 19 $ 41.00 <br />22 29.00 <br />29 23.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following bids were awarded: <br />Cynthia Stremme - Vehicle No. 23 $51.05 <br />Charles E. Teske - Vehicle No. 19 $41.00 <br />22 29.00 <br />29 23.00 <br />TOTAL: $ 93.00 <br />GRAND TOTAL: $144.05 <br />It was noted that no bids were received for the remaining <br />twenty-five (25) vehicles. <br />APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONTRACTS <br />The following seven (7) Community Development Contracts were <br />presented to the Board for approval: <br />DEPARTMENT OF CODE ENFORCEMENT <br />NEIGHBORHOOD CLEAN-UP CREW ACTIVITY <br />The targeted goal for this activity is to clean-up 1,300 <br />sites within the Community Development Neighborhood <br />Revitalization Area. The total amount of this activity <br />shall not exceed $87,000.00. <br />DEPARTMENT OF CODE ENFORCEMENT <br />MANAGEMENT/INSPECTION ACTIVITY <br />The targeted goal for this activity is to conduct 3,600 <br />inspections. The total cost of this activity shall not <br />exceed $212,000.00. <br />
