Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />AWARD BID - PARKING LOT LANDSCAPING & LIGHTING - EAST RACE PARK <br />NO. II PROJECT <br />Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director, Division of Engineering, <br />recommended that the following bid be awarded: <br />PARKING LOT, LANDSCAPING & LIGHTING - EAST RACE <br />PARK NO. II PROJECT <br />CONTRACTOR: Michiana Paving & Excavating, Inc. <br />705 South Beiger Street <br />Mishawaka, Indiana 46544 <br />AMOUNT: $138,079.95 <br />BIDS OPENED: August 21, 1989 <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the above bid <br />was awarded. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF CITY AWNING OF SOUTH BEND TO ERECT CANOPY AT <br />121 NORTH HILL STREET (BAER BARKLEY & COMPANY) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request which was <br />submitted to the Board on August 28, 1989 and approval is <br />recommended at this time. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion <br />that the recommendations be accepted and the request be <br />approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. <br />REQUESTS OF FOREST SIGN AND DISPLAY, INC TO INSTALL AWNINGS AT <br />- 1011 SOUTH MAIN STREET (WHEEL & RIM SALES) <br />- 2729 SOUTH MAIN STREET (FOREST SIGN & DISPLAY) - REFERRED <br />Mr. Donald E. Jesswein, Forest Sign & Display, Inc., 2729 South <br />Main Street, South Bend, Indiana, submitted two (2) requests to <br />install awnings, which will encroach onto the public right-of-way <br />at the above referred to locations. Submitted with the requests <br />were the dimensions and sketches of the awnings to be erected. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the requests were referred to the appropriate City <br />departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST OF PARK AVENUE NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION TO CLOSE MANITOU <br />PLACE FOR ANNUAL HALLOWEEN PARTY - OCTOBER 29 1989 - REFERRED <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of an <br />Application For Use Of And Blocking Of Access To Public <br />Right -of -Way For A Party Or Similar Event, which was submitted by <br />Ms. Giovanna Sandusky, Secretary, Park Avenue Neighborhood <br />Association, 721 Park Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, requesting <br />that Manitou Place, from Forest Avenue to Park Avenue, be closed <br />from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 1989 for the <br />annual Halloween Party. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request was referred <br />to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation. <br />
