REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 18, 1989 <br />Humphreys made a motion that the Report of Inspection be approved <br />and executed. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF FOREST SIGN AND DISPLAY TO ERECT AWNING AT 215 <br />SOUTH MAIN STREET <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request which was <br />submitted to the Board on September 5, 1989 and approval is <br />recommended at this time. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a <br />motion that the recommendation be accepted and the request be <br />approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - ST. <br />- PEDESTRIAN WALKWAYS <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director, <br />Division of Engineering, requested that the Board advertise for <br />the receipt of bids for the above referred to project with bids <br />being opened by the Board on October 9, 1989. It was noted that <br />the elevated walkways will connect the new parking garage with <br />the IBM building and the former J.C. Penny's building. Upon a <br />motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the request was approved. <br />APPROVE STATE OF INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS RIGHT-OF-WAY <br />PERMIT APPLICATION FORM AND BOND AND/OR PERMIT FEE WAIVER FORM <br />RE: HOLIDAY PARADE - NOVEMBER 18, 1989 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director, <br />Division of Engineering, submitted to the Board a State of <br />Indiana Department of Highways Right -Of -Way Permit form and a <br />Bond And/Or Permit Fee Waiver form and advised that these forms <br />will be sent to the IDOH and is a request for the closing of St. <br />Joseph Street and Michigan Street - Western to LaSalle, for the <br />Holiday Parade which will be held on November 18, 1989 from 11:00 <br />a.m. to 12:00 noon. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the forms as submitted <br />were approved and executed. <br />REQUEST OF CITY AWNING OF SOUTH BEND TO INSTALL CANOPY AT 111 <br />WEST WAYNE STREET (EHNINGER FLORIST) - REFERRED <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that Mr. Hank Craft, Sales Representative, <br />City Awning of South Bend, 1835 South Franklin Street, South <br />Bend, Indiana, requested permission to install a canopy which <br />will project out and over the City sidewalk at 111 West Wayne <br />Street. Mr. Craft submitted with his request a drawing of the <br />proposed canopy indicating dimensions of the canopy as well as <br />information regarding the type of frame to be utilized. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and <br />carried, the request was referred to the appropriate City <br />departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION: <br />LOCATION: <br />REMARKS: <br />Stop Sign - 4-Way <br />Colfax & Greenlawn <br />Requested by Carol Bradley, <br />1341 E. Colfax Avenue. <br />Warrants met - twenty-four <br />(24) accidents in five (5) <br />years. <br />
