224 <br />REGULAR MEETING JULY 31. 1989 <br />REQUEST OF DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT TO ACQUIRE CITY -OWNED <br />PROPERTY AT 622 COLUMBIA STREET - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board,, Mrs. Hedy Robinson, Department of <br />Economic Development, advised that the City owns a vacant lot at <br />622 S. Columbia Street which is adjacent to the property which <br />the Department of Redevelopment owns at 624 S. Columbia. Mrs. <br />Robinson advised that the department is presently working with a <br />client regarding a house move and would like to own both lots for <br />this purpose. Therefore, the Redevelopment Commission would <br />appreciate securing the Deed to this City owned property. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and <br />carried the request was referred to the appropriate City <br />departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE SIDEWALK SALE PERMIT APPLICATION <br />Upon motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the following Sidewalk Sale Permit Application was <br />approved: <br />NAME: MS SHOPPE INC. <br />BY: Geneva Foulks <br />LOCATION: 113 W. Colfax <br />DATE: August 2, 3, 4, 1989 <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - SECONDHAND DEALER <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following one (1) secondhand <br />dealers license application has been received: <br />NAME: THE BOUTIQUE EXCHANGE <br />BY: Janine Kennedy <br />ADDRESS: 729 North Niles <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: Used clothing and accessories <br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that favorable recommendations <br />have been received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />Department of Code Enforcement, Police Department and Fire <br />Department on the above application. Upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above <br />license application was approved and referred to the Deputy <br />Controller's office for issuance of a license. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of forty-seven (47) properties cleaned from July 17, 1989 <br />to July 20, 1989, was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the report as <br />submitted was filed. <br />APPROVE AND/OR RELEASE CONTRACTORS AND EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Mr. Michael P. Meeks Director, Division of Engineering, has <br />advised that he has reviewed the following bonds and recommends <br />that they be approved and/or released as indicated: <br />CONTRACTORS BONDS <br />- Southmore Mutual Housing Corporation APPROVE <br />Effective: 7/24/89 <br />EXCAVATION BONDS <br />- Excavating Engineers, Inc. APPROVE <br />Effective: July 25, 1989 <br />
