These funds will enable them to purchase a van to <br />pick-up donated food and also to buy additional food for the <br />Center. <br />Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the Agreement be approved. Ms. <br />Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PERMIT_- BOLIDEN METECH INC. <br />Mr. Donald W. Stilz, Pretreatment Coordinator, Environmental <br />Services, submitted to the Board and recommended approval of a <br />Wastewater Discharge Permit for Boliden Metech, Inc., 445 North <br />Sheridan, South Bend, for the period July 24, 1989 to July 24, <br />1994. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that this permit be <br />approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried and <br />Permit No. SB026 was approved. <br />APPROVE APPLICATION FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Board has been advised that the <br />Affirmative Action Application for Bidder Qualification as <br />submitted by Don's Gas & Car Wash, Inc., 1836 South Michigan <br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, has been recommended for approval. <br />Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the recommendation be <br />accepted and the application be approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded <br />the motion which carried. <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that Ms. Cindy Berg, 128 East Tasher, <br />South Bend, Indiana, has advised that the residents of the 100 <br />block of East Tasher are planning a block party on July 29, 1989, <br />from 3:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. and would therefore like the 100 <br />block of East Tasher, from Michigan and Jennings, closed for the <br />block party. Mr. Leszczynski noted that the appropriate City <br />departments and bureaus have reviewed this request and approval <br />is recommended. Therefore,, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that <br />the request be approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />REQUEST OF CITY AWNING TO ERECT A CANOPY AT 1905 MIAMI STREET - <br />REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Hank Craft, Sales Representative, <br />City Awning of South Bend, 1835 South Franklin Street, South <br />Bend, Indiana, requested permission to install a canopy which <br />will project out over the City sidewalk at Jovis Restaurant, 1905 <br />Miami Street. Mr. Craft advised the Board of the following <br />information regarding the canopy: <br />- Front edge of canopy will project a minimum of three <br />(3) feet (3611) over the sidewalk; <br />- Frame will consist of three -fourths inch (3/411) heavy <br />duty aluminum rafters spaced equally apart and one inch <br />(11') bottom and top rails; <br />- Bottom of frame will be a minimum of eight feet, six <br />inches (816"),''(102" from sidewalk). <br />Mr. Craft additionally submitted a drawing of the canopy with his <br />request. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be <br />referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for <br />review and recommendation. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />
