199 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 10, 1989 <br />APPROVE SIDEWALK SALE PERMIT APPLICATIONS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following three (3) Sidewalk <br />Sale Permit applications have been submitted: <br />1. NAME: LADY IN WAITING, INC. <br />BY: Elizabeth Campeau <br />LOCATION: 2121 South Miami <br />DATES: August 3-5, 1989 <br />2. NAME: DUFFINS MIAMI FLORIST, INC. <br />BY: Daniel Duffin <br />LOCATION: 2208 Miami Street <br />DATES: August 3-5, 1989 <br />3. NAME: LITTLE BLESSINGS BOUTIQUE <br />BY: Janet Koucouthakis <br />LOCATION: 2123 Miami Street <br />DATES: August 3-5, 1989 <br />It was noted that the appropriate Indemnification Agreements were <br />completed and attached to each application. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. <br />Humphreys and carried, the above applications were approved and <br />executed. <br />AWARD BID - BAER'S PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director, <br />Division of Engineering, recommended that the Board award the low <br />bid of Michiana Paving & Excavating, Inc., 705 Beiger Street, <br />Mishawaka, Indiana, in the amount of $67,747.47, which is the <br />base bid plus alternates, for the above referred to project. It <br />was noted that bids for this project were opened by the Board on <br />June 12, 1989. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by <br />Ms. Humphreys and carried, the recommendation was accepted and <br />the bid awarded. <br />APPROVE REQUESTS: <br />- OF VIETNAM VETERANS OF AMERICA TO CONDUCT HOSTAGE FREEDOM MARCH <br />JULY 29, 1989 <br />- OF BENDIX WHEELS & BRAKES DIVISION TO CLOSE WESTMOOR STREET FOR <br />DIVISION OPEN HOUSE - JULY 16, 1989 <br />- OF HOSPICE OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY TO CONDUCT 4TH ANNUAL WALK FOR <br />HOSPICE - OCTOBER 15, 1989 <br />- TO CLOSE UNION AVENUE FOR NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - AUGUST 6, <br />1989 <br />- OF WOMEN'S ART LEAGUE FOR TRAFFIC ASSISTANCE IN CONJUNCTION <br />WITH GARDEN WALK - SEPTEMBER 7, 1989 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to requests which were <br />submitted to the Board on June 12, 1989, June 19, 1989 and June <br />26, 1989 and approval is recommended. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq <br />made a motion that the recommendations be accepted and the <br />requests be approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the following five (5) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION: No Parking <br />6 P.M. TO 3 A.M. - TOW ZONE <br />LOCATION: 200 block College - west side <br />
