REGULAR MEETING JULY 10, 1989 193 1 1 1 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:41 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 1989 by Board President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq and Ms. Katherine Humphreys present. Also present was Deputy City Attorney Sandra Boyd. APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the minutes of regular meeting of the Board held on June 26, 1989 were approved. OPENING OF BIDS - CAR WASHES FOR CITY VEHICLES FOR THE PERIOD AUGUST 1, 1989 THROUGH JULY 31, 1990 AND FILING OF APPLICATION FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION Mr. Leszczynski advised that July 3, 1989, was the date set for the receiving of bids for the above referred to services. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. As the Board of Public Works meeting set for that date was cancelled, the following bid received on that date was opened and read: DON'S GAS & CAR WASH, INC. 1836 South Michigan Street South Bend, Indiana Bid was signed by Sharon K. Zwierzynski, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a Certified Check in the amount of $160.00 was submitted. BID: Wet Wash only, 1-100 units per month: $1.50 each Wet Wash only, 100 or more units per month: $1.25 each Jeeps: $1.50 each Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the above bid was referred to the Police Department for review and recommendation and the application for bidder qualification as submitted by Don's Gas was accepted for filing and referred to the Affirmative Action Review Committee for review and recommendation. OPENING AND AWARD OF BID - SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY - 719 WEST JEFFERSON Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set receiving and opening of sealed bids for the sale property at 719 West Jefferson Street, South Bend, Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found t sufficient. The following bid was received: MR. KIRT L. EDLY 120 Garfield Court, South Bend, Indiana BID: $275.00. for the of City -owned Indiana. The the South Bend o be Mr. Leszczynski noted that the property has an appraised value of $275.00. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the offer of $275:00 for the property at 719 W. Jefferson was accepted and the matter referred to the City Attorney's office for the drafting of the appropriate Purchase Agreement.
