REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 10, 1989 <br />193 <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:41 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 1989 by Board President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq and <br />Ms. Katherine Humphreys present. Also present was Deputy City <br />Attorney Sandra Boyd. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the minutes of regular meeting of the Board held on <br />June 26, 1989 were approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - CAR WASHES FOR CITY VEHICLES FOR THE PERIOD <br />AUGUST 1, 1989 THROUGH JULY 31, 1990 AND FILING OF APPLICATION <br />FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that July 3, 1989, was the date set for <br />the receiving of bids for the above referred to services. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend <br />Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be <br />sufficient. As the Board of Public Works meeting set for that <br />date was cancelled, the following bid received on that date was <br />opened and read: <br />DON'S GAS & CAR WASH, INC. <br />1836 South Michigan Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Bid was signed by Sharon K. Zwierzynski, Non -Collusion <br />Affidavit was in order and a Certified Check in the <br />amount of $160.00 was submitted. <br />BID: Wet Wash only, 1-100 units per month: $1.50 each <br />Wet Wash only, 100 or more units per month: $1.25 each <br />Jeeps: $1.50 each <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the above bid was referred to the Police Department <br />for review and recommendation and the application for bidder <br />qualification as submitted by Don's Gas was accepted for filing <br />and referred to the Affirmative Action Review Committee for <br />review and recommendation. <br />OPENING AND AWARD OF BID - SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY - 719 WEST <br />JEFFERSON <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set <br />receiving and opening of sealed bids for the sale <br />property at 719 West Jefferson Street, South Bend, <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in <br />Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found t <br />sufficient. The following bid was received: <br />MR. KIRT L. EDLY <br />120 Garfield Court, <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />BID: $275.00. <br />for the <br />of City -owned <br />Indiana. The <br />the South Bend <br />o be <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that the property has an appraised value of <br />$275.00. <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the offer of $275:00 for the property at 719 W. <br />Jefferson was accepted and the matter referred to the City <br />Attorney's office for the drafting of the appropriate Purchase <br />Agreement. <br />
