180 <br />REGULAR MEETING JUNE 26, 1989 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:37 a.m. on Monday, June 26, 1989, by Board President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq and <br />Ms. Katherine Humphreys present. Also present was Assistant City <br />Attorney Jenny Pitts-Manier. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the minutes of the special meeting of the Board held <br />on June 15, 1989 and the minutes of the regular meeting of the <br />Board held on June 19, 1989 were approved. <br />APPROVE <br />FUND/EC <br />Ms. Betsy Harriman, Offi <br />the Agreement for Staff <br />approval is between the <br />Board of Public Works on <br />Department and the Trust <br />of South Bend, Indiana. <br />AGREEMENT FOR <br />' - INDUSTRIAL REVOLVING <br />ce of Community Development, advised that <br />Support submitted to the Board today for <br />City of South Bend by and through the <br />behalf of its Economic Development <br />known as The Industrial Revolving Fund <br />Ms. Harriman stated that the Agreement provides general staff <br />support to the Trust for which the City shall receive the sum of <br />$7,500.00. The term of the Agreement is January 1, 1989 through <br />December 31, 1989 and the services to be provided include <br />collection of documentation required by each respective loan <br />agreement, contacting loan recipient if documentation is <br />delinquent, special notification to the Trust in the case of a <br />covenant violation and annual preparation of a financial <br />statement. <br />It was noted that even though the date of this Agreement is <br />January 1, 1989 through December 31, 1989, the services have been <br />provided since January and at this time the terms and conditions <br />have been set forth in this Agreement for Staff Support. Ms. <br />Harriman noted that no specific individual has been assigned to <br />provide the services referred to above but services are provided <br />by the staff of the Department of Economic Development. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. <br />Humphreys and carried, the Agreement for Staff Support was <br />approved and executed. <br />:IAL ACTION - INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS - <br />TURNING MOVEMENTS - U.S. 20 & MAPLEWOOD AVENUE AND WOODBINE <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Indiana Department of Highways <br />has submitted to the Board an Official Action form which <br />indicates that the IDOH proposes to make certain traffic control <br />improvements and indicates that controls will be established. <br />The Official Action form states that turning movements shall be <br />controlled at the intersection of US 20 (Lincolnway) and <br />Maplewood Avenue and Woodbine in the City of South Bend as <br />follows: <br />TURN ON RED - Shall be prohibited on the east and west <br />approaches of the intersection of US 20 <br />(Lincolnway) and Maplewood Avenue and <br />Woodbine. <br />RIGHT TURN ON RED - Shall be permitted on the north and <br />south approaches of the intersection <br />of U.S. 20 (Lincolnway) and Maple- <br />wood Avenue and Woodbine. <br />
