NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend that the system listed above is no longer needed by the City; is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended; and has an estimated total value of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) or more. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said equipment must be sold at a public auction, conducted by an auctioneer licensed under Indiana Code 25-6.1, after advertising the property for sale, in accordance with Indiana Code 5-3-1. Parmerlee, Clerk APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - CAR WASHES FOR CITY VEHICLES In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Ronald G. Marciniak requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for car washes for City vehicles for the period August 1, 1989 through July 31, 1990. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request was approved. REQUEST OF MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM FOR CONSIDERATION OF DESIGNATED PARKING SPACES - REFERRED In a letter to the Board, Mr. Dale Balsbaugh, Director, Morris Civic Auditorium, 211 North Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana outlined the problem with employee parking at the Morris Civic Auditorium and provided several suggestions to alleviate the problems. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the letter as submitted be referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. BLOCK PARTY REQUESTS - REFERRED - DALE STREET, FROM IRVINGTON TO ECKMAN - JULY 1, 1989 - WALL STREET, FROM TWYCKENHAM TO CHESTER - JULY 8, 1989 Ms. Candence Howell, 921 E. Eckman, South Bend, Indiana, submitted to the Board an Application For Use Of And Blocking Of Access To Public Right -Of -Way For A Party Or Similar Event requesting that Dale, from Irvington to East Eckman, be closed from 12:00 noon until 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, 1989, for a neighborhood block party. Additionally, in a letter to the Board, Mr. Terry L. Dickerson, 1321 Wall Street, advised that a neighborhood block party has been scheduled for the 1400 block of Wall Street on Saturday, July 8, 1989 from 2:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight. The party will be open to all Wall Street residents from Twyckenham to Sunnyside. Therefore, Mr. Dickerson requested permission to close Wall Street, from Twyckenham to Chester Street for this event. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the above referred to requests were referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. i
