Parmerlee, Clerk <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - CAR WASHES <br />FOR CITY VEHICLES <br />In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Ronald G. Marciniak <br />requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for <br />car washes for City vehicles for the period August 1, 1989 <br />through July 31, 1990. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request was approved. <br />REQUEST OF MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM FOR CONSIDERATION OF <br />DESIGNATED PARKING SPACES - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Dale Balsbaugh, Director, Morris <br />Civic Auditorium, 211 North Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana <br />outlined the problem with employee parking at the Morris Civic <br />Auditorium and provided several suggestions to alleviate the <br />problems. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the letter as <br />submitted be referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and <br />the Police Department Traffic Division for review and <br />recommendation. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. <br />BLOCK PARTY REQUESTS - REFERRED <br />- DALE STREET, FROM IRVINGTON TO ECKMAN - JULY 1, 1989 <br />- WALL STREET, FROM TWYCKENHAM TO CHESTER - JULY 8, 1989 <br />Ms. Candence Howell, 921 E. Eckman, South Bend, Indiana, <br />submitted to the Board an Application For Use Of And Blocking Of <br />Access To Public Right -Of -Way For A Party Or Similar Event <br />requesting that Dale, from Irvington to East Eckman, be closed <br />from 12:00 noon until 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, 1989, for a <br />neighborhood block party. <br />Additionally, in a letter to the Board, Mr. Terry L. Dickerson, <br />1321 Wall Street, advised that a neighborhood block party has <br />been scheduled for the 1400 block of Wall Street on Saturday, <br />July 8, 1989 from 2:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight. The party will be <br />open to all Wall Street residents from Twyckenham to Sunnyside. <br />Therefore, Mr. Dickerson requested permission to close Wall <br />Street, from Twyckenham to Chester Street for this event. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the above referred to requests were referred to the <br />appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation. <br />i <br />
