<br />Mr. Stilz advised that KOKOKU Wire Industries and Qualex, Inc.
<br />had approved discharge permits under their respective former
<br />names. Both have requested that the name on the permit be
<br />changed to correspond to their present name.
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the permit forms submitted for
<br />approval and execution are the standard documents for wastewater
<br />discharge permits. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that
<br />the permits be approved as requested. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the
<br />motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BIDS•
<br />- VIRIDIAN DRIVE PHASE IV PROJECT
<br />- RALPH JONES/WILLIAM RICHARDSON DRIVE PROJECT
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director,
<br />Division of Engineering, recommended that the Board accept the
<br />low bid of Walsh & Kelly, 24358 State Road 23, South Bend,
<br />Indiana, in the amount of $30,178.50 for the Viridian Drive Phase
<br />IV Project. It was noted that bids for this project were opened
<br />by the Board on May 22, 1989. Upon a motion made by Mrs.
<br />DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the
<br />recommendation was accepted and the bid awarded.
<br />Additionally, Mr. Meeks recommended that the Board accept the low
<br />bid of Rieth-Riley Construction Company, Inc., P.O. Box 1775
<br />South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $98,026.75 for the Ralph
<br />Jones/William Richardson Drive Project. Upon a motion made by
<br />Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the
<br />recommendation was accepted and the bid awarded.
<br />APPROVE LETTER OF CREDIT #594 - JACK HICKEY ASSOCIATES (SOUTH
<br />HAMPTON SUBDIVISION)
<br />Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director, Division of Engineering, asked
<br />that the Board accept the above referred to Letter of Credit in
<br />lieu of public improvements in South Hampton Subdivision.
<br />Irrevocable Letter of Credit #594, issued by Valley American
<br />Bank, in the amount of $45,000.00 for the account of Jack Hickey
<br />Associates, Inc., indicated that the letter of Credit is given to
<br />warrant the guarantee and completion of public improvements,
<br />water, sanitary sewers, curbs and streets in South Hampton
<br />Subdivision located in St. Joseph County, City of South Bend.
<br />It was noted that this Letter of Credit will be in effect until
<br />September 13, 1989.
<br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by
<br />Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the Letter of Credit as submitted was
<br />approved.
