127 <br />REGULAR MEETING MAY 1, 1989 <br />alley behind the former J.C. Penny building at 220 South Michigan <br />Street has been reviewed by various City departments and bureaus <br />and is recommended for approval subject to the conditions as <br />established by the Engineering and Legal Departments being met. <br />Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the request be <br />approved subject to the conditions of the Engineering and Legal <br />Departments being satisfied. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion <br />and it carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF AMERICAN THEATER ARTS FOR YOUTH, INC FOR <br />ASSISTANCE IN CONJUNCTION WITH PRESENTATION AT MORRIS CIVIC <br />AUDITORIUM - MAY 5, 1989 <br />Based on favorable recommendations received from various City <br />departments and bureaus who have reviewed this request which was <br />submitted to the Board on April 24, 1989, Mrs. DeClercq made a <br />motion that the request be approved. Mr. Leszczynski seconded <br />the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF LETTER CARRIERS TO <br />CONDUCT INTERSECTION SOLICITATIONS FOR MDA - JULY 9. 1989 <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the above referred to request which was submitted to <br />the Board on April 17, 1989 and recommended for approval by the <br />various City departments and bureaus who reviewed the request, <br />was approved as submitted. Mrs. DeClercq instructed the Clerk of <br />the Board to advise the National Association of Letter Carriers <br />that all solicitations must take place from the sidewalk only as <br />solicitations in the street are prohibited. <br />APPROVE APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the applications for bidder qualification as <br />submitted by the following were approved: <br />- Midwest Collection Services, Inc., South Bend, Indiana <br />- Dion Chemical Corporation, Elkhart, Indiana <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION: NO PARKING <br />LOCATION: Ruskin - Esther to Twyckenham <br />REMARKS: Both sides of the street <br />APPROVE RELEASE OF CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director, <br />Division of Engineering, has advised and recommended that the <br />Contractor's Bond of Neal P. and Pamela A. Mulchrone be released <br />effective April 19, 1989. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the <br />recommendation was accepted and the bond released. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEETS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following Title Sheets were approved and signed: <br />1. CREEKWOOD VILLAS - SECTION ONE AND TWO <br />CLAY TOWNSHIP - CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />Street and sidewalk construction/sanitary and storm sewer <br />construction/water main installation/lift station <br />
