<br />APPROVE APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that it has been recommended that the
<br />applications for bidder qualification as submitted by the
<br />following be approved and they be qualified as City bidders:
<br />1. Ideal Consolidated, Inc.
<br />2. HRP Company, Inc.
<br />3. Rose Fuel & Materials, Inc.
<br />4. Elf Asphalt, Inc.
<br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms.
<br />Humphreys and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the
<br />above named companies approved as qualified City bidders.
<br />AWARD QUOTATION - IMPROVEMENTS AT MUNICIPAL SERVICES FACILITY
<br />(GARAGE PORTION)
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director,
<br />Division of Engineering, has advised that he has reviewed the
<br />Quotations for the above referred to project received and opened
<br />by the Board on February 27, 1989, and recommends at this time
<br />that the Quotation submitted by Ideal Consolidated, Inc., 806
<br />West Sample Street, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of
<br />$19,309.00, which includes the additional amount of $2,587.00 as
<br />alternate for silicone tube,,be awarded. Upon a motion made by
<br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the
<br />recommendation was accepted and the Quotation awarded.
<br />AWARD BID - 27TH STREET LIFT STATION AT NORTHSIDE BOULEVARD
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. John J. Dillon, Bureau of
<br />Wastewater, advised that after careful review by the Wastewater
<br />staff and their engineers, it is recommended that the bid of
<br />Kaser-Spraker Construction, Inc., 25487 West S.R. 2, South Bend,
<br />Indiana, in the amount of $115.035.00 for the replacement of the
<br />27th Street Lift Station and the trailer mounted generator be
<br />awarded. It was noted that bids for this project were opened by
<br />the Board of Public Works on April 3, 1989. Therefore, upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and
<br />carried, the recommendation was accepted and the bid awarded.

<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and
<br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request which was
<br />submitted to the Board on March 27, 1989 and approval is
<br />recommended at this time. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs.
<br />DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the
<br />recommendation was accepted and the request approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST OF MICHIANA WATERSHED, INC TO CONDUCT 19TH
<br />ANNUAL RIVER RUN - MAY 13, 1989
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting,
<br />Police Department Traffic Division, Fire Department, Park
<br />Department and City Attorney's office have reviewed the above
<br />referred to request which was submitted to the Board on January
<br />9, 1989 and approval is recommended. Therefore, upon a motion
<br />made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the
<br />recommendation was accepted and the request approved.
<br />DENY REQUEST TO CLOSE SECTION OF SOUTH CHAPIN STREET, BETWEEN
<br />DUBAIL AND BRUCE, FOR ESTATE AUCTION - APRIL 29, 1989
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and
<br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to inquiry which was
<br />submitted to the Board on March 27. 1989.
