REGULAR MEETING MARCH 27, 1989 <br />Mr. Brubaker advised that because of the above mentioned <br />activities, there is a need to re-route adjacent streets to <br />facilitate traffic to the outdoor auto exhibit and car corral, <br />adjacent to the museum and Coveleski Regional Baseball Stadium. <br />Therefore, he is requesting the following traffic pattern on <br />Saturday, May 6, 1989: <br />Close Lafayette Boulevard between Bronson Street and <br />South Street. <br />Close South Street between Main and Lafayette Boulevard. <br />Traffic regulations to be at the discretion of ,the South <br />Bend Police Department Traffic Division <br />Mr. Brubaker further.advised that the museum will use its own <br />barricades and would ask for assistance from the police and Civil <br />Defense Police if needed. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request was referred to the <br />appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF <br />ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale of <br />approximately twelve (12) abandoned vehicles, which are being <br />stored at Super Auto Salvage Corporation, 3300 South Main Street, <br />South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles have been <br />stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had <br />been run for auto theft and the owners and lienholders notified. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the above request was approved and a date of April <br />10, 1989, was established for the receiving and opening of sealed <br />bids. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was <br />approved: <br />NEW INSTALLATION: HANDICAP SPACE <br />LOCATION: 1808 Florence Street <br />REMARKS: Pursuant to request submitted on <br />behalf of Mr. Enoch Brownlee to <br />the Board of Public Works on <br />March 6, 1989 <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of forty-one (41) properties cleaned from March 6, 1989 to <br />March 17, 1989, was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the report as <br />submitted was filed. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Chief Deputy City Controller John D. Leisenring, submitted Claim <br />Docket Nos. 5923 through 6174 and 6177 through 6540 and <br />recommended approval. Additionally, Voucher Nos. 214-243 for the <br />Bureau of Wastewater, Voucher Nos. 176-205 for the Bureau of <br />Sewers and Voucher Nos. 12-18 for the Bureau of Solid Waste were <br />also submitted for approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by <br />Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the <br />claims and vouchers were approved and the reports as submitted <br />were filed. <br />
