M <br />REGULAR MEETING MARCH 27, 1989 <br />$3,095.11. Indiana Bell's contract is for three (3) years. <br />AT&T's proposed commission rate is ten per cent (10%) plus a four <br />per cent (40) bonus for six (6) months. The proposed commission <br />amount is estimated to be $2,679.00. The AT&T contract is for <br />two (2) years. <br />AWARD PROPOSAL - CABLE REPLACEMENT - MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Dale Balsbaugh, Morris Civic <br />Auditorium, advised that after careful research and comparison of <br />the Proposals received on February 13, 1989, it is his <br />recommendation that the Proposal submitted by Koontz -Wagner be <br />accepted. He stated that this Proposal fulfills all the <br />technical requirements for the job and is within the necessary <br />requirements of the U.S. electrical code. It was noted that the <br />Proposal of Koontz -Wagner was not the lowest Proposal received <br />but was the one that was best able to provide the materials <br />necessary to complete the project. Therefore, upon a motion made <br />by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the <br />recommendation was accepted and the Proposal awarded. <br />AWARD BID - ONE (1) CAB AND CHASSIS WITH A GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT <br />OF 35000 TO BE USED TO HOLD A 20 YD. TRASH COMPACTOR - DEPARTMENT <br />OF SANITATION - BUREAU OF SOLID WASTE <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Robert Kruszynski, Manager, <br />Department of Sanitation, advised that after reviewing the two <br />(2) bids submitted to the Board on March 20, 1989, he is <br />recommending that the Board award the low bid submitted by <br />Shamrock Ford Truck Sales in the amount of $38,227.00 which does <br />include a $5,000.00 trade-in on Solid Waste Unit #571. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the recommendation was accepted and <br />the bid awarded. <br />APPROVE REOUEST OF SOUTH BEND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION CORPORATION <br />TO ERECT A SHELTER AT SAMPLE AND HUMPHREYS COURT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request which was <br />submitted to the Board on March 13, 1989, and recommend approval <br />at this time. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, <br />seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the recommendation was <br />accepted and the request approved. <br />APPROVE REOUEST OF RIVER PARK CHURCH OF CHRIST TO CONDUCT PARADE <br />IN CONJUNCTION WITH VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL PROGRAM - MAY 28. 1989 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the above referred to request, <br />submitted to the Board on March 6, 1989, has been reviewed by <br />various City departments and bureaus and it is recommended at <br />this time that the request as submitted be approved. Therefore, <br />upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request <br />approved. <br />APPROVE APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following applications for <br />bidder qualification have been submitted for Board approval: <br />1. Kent Meters, Inc. <br />2. E.J.P. Midwest <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. <br />Humphreys and carried, the above named applicants were approved <br />as qualified City bidders. <br />
