74 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 20, 1989 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:34 a.m. on Monday, March 20, 1989, by Board President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq and <br />Ms. Katherine Humphreys present. Also present was Assistant <br />City Attorney Marva Leonard -Dent. <br />AGENDA ITEMS ADDED AND DELETED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the Award of Proposal to replace drop cables at the <br />Morris Civic Auditorium was deleted from the agenda and proposed <br />changes to the PEBSCO Deferred Compensation Plan was added to the <br />agenda. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held <br />on March 13, 1989 were approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - ONE (1) CAB AND CHASSIS WITH A GROSS VEHICLE <br />WEIGHT OF 35000 TO BE USED TO HOLD A 20 YD. TRASH COMPACTOR - <br />DEPARTMENT OF SANITATION - BUREAU OF SOLID WASTE <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the <br />receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to <br />project. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in <br />the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found <br />to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly <br />read: <br />WACKER CORPORATION <br />N92 W15000 Anthony Avenue <br />P.O. Box 9007 <br />Menomonee Falls, WI 53051-9007 <br />Mr. James J. Freres, Government Accounts Manager, advised <br />that Wacker Corporation submits "No Bid" at this time. <br />W & W INTERNATIONAL, INC. <br />4849 West Western Avenue <br />South Bend, Indiana 46619 <br />Bid was submitted by Robert M. Drabecki, Non -Collusion <br />Affidavit was in order and a Bid Bond in the amount of <br />$4,720.00 was submitted. <br />BID: 1990 Intl Model 4900 $43,435.00 <br />Trade -In: Fleet #571 2,750.00 <br />Total Net Trade Difference $40,685.00 <br />SHAMROCK FORD TRUCK SALES, INC. <br />4707 West Western Avenue <br />South Bend, Indiana 46619 <br />Bid was signed by Rick A. Ecker, President, Non -Collusion <br />Affidavit was in order and a Bid Bond in the amount of <br />$4,200.00 was submitted. <br />BID: 1989 Ford LN8000 Cab & Chassis $43,227.00 <br />Less Trade In 5,000.00 <br />Total $38,227.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the bids were referred to the Department of <br />Sanitation for review and recommendation. <br />
