13 REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 16, 1989 indicating an increase of $14,398.32 and sixteen (16) days to the project. The new Contract amount, including this Change Order, is $3,211,485.32 and the new Contract completion date is May 17, 1989. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, Change Order No. 1 as submitted was approved. APPROVE REQUEST OF KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS TO CONDUCT ANNUAL MARCH FOR LIFE - JANUARY 22, 1989 Mrs. DeClercq advised that the appropriate City departments and bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to the Board on January 3, 1989 and recommend approval at this time. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY MARCH - JANUARY 16, 1989 Mrs. DeClercq advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed a request submitted by Ms. Mikki Dobski, Director, Office of Community Affairs, to conduct the annual March commemorating Martin Luther King on Monday, January 16, 1989 at 1:00 p.m. It was noted that the March will begin at the County -City Building on Jefferson Boulevard and proceed down Jefferson Boulevard to the Century Center. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION Mrs. DeClercq stated that the Affirmative Action Review Committee has advised that after complete review, they have found that the following companies have met the requirements of the South Bend Affirmative Action Ordinance and therefore recommend that they be approved as qualified City bidders: 1. Best Equipment Company, Inc. 2. Super Auto Salvage Corporation 3. Steve and Gene's Auto 4. Valley Towing Co. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the above named companies approved as qualified City bidders. APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were approved: 1. NEW INSTALLATION: Handicap - two (2) spaces LOCATION: On Colfax at Michigan (north side) 2. REVISED TO: Stop Sign - 4 Way Stop LOCATION: Cedar & Niles REMARKS: Upgrading of Niles Avenue - Geometric changes FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a total of forty-three (43) properties cleaned from December 29, 1988 to January 6, 1989, was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the report as submitted was filed.
