REGULAR MEETING <br />JANVARY 16, 1989 <br />11 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:32 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 1989 by Board Member Patricia E. <br />DeClercq, with Mrs. DeClercq and Ms. Katherine Humphreys present. <br />Board President John E. Leszczynski was not in attendance. Also <br />present was Assistant City Attorney Marva J. Leonard -Dent. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the minutes of the January 9, 1989, regular meeting <br />of the Board were approved. <br />AWARD PROPOSAL - PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURANCE COVERAGE <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Katherine Humphreys, Director, <br />Administration and Finance, advised that insurance Proposals <br />submitted to the Board on December 12, 1988 have been reviewed <br />and she recommends at this time that the Proposal submitted by <br />the Gibson Insurance Agency, 404 South Columbia Street, Suite <br />200, South Bend, Indiana, be awarded as follows: <br />Property Insurance <br />Gibson Insurance Agency <br />Kemper Insurance Company - Annual Premium $116,157.00 <br />Boiler and Machinery <br />Gibson Insurance Agency <br />Cincinnati Insurance Company - Annual Premium $3,211.00 <br />Liability Insurance <br />Gibson Insurance Agency <br />Cincinnati Insurance Company - Annual Premium $59,894.00 <br />Worker's Compensation <br />Gibson Insurance Agency <br />Orion Group - Annual Premium $235,129.00 <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. <br />DeClercq and carried, the Proposal of Gibson Insurance Agency was <br />awarded as indicated above. <br />AWARD PROPOSALS - SALVAGE AND STORAGE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, advised the Board that the Proposals received on <br />January 3, 1989 for the storage and salvage of abandoned vehicles <br />have been reviewed and it is recommended at this time that the <br />following Proposals be accepted: <br />Storage: Super Auto Salvage <br />$500.00 per month for storage of not less <br />than 500 vehicles <br />Salvage: Super Auto Salvage <br />$32.79 per vehicle received from the Department <br />of Code Enforcement or its agent. <br />Mrs. DeClercq noted that no recommendation is being made at this <br />time for the towing of abandoned vehicles as those Proposals are <br />still under review. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. <br />Humphreys and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the <br />above referred to Proposals approved and awarded. <br />APPR <br />CITY <br />Ms. Kathryn Baumgartner, Director, Bureau of Housing, <br />Board that the Council of Providers of Services to the <br />advised the <br />Homeless, <br />9 <br />
