375 REGULAR MEETING NOVFMBER 19, 1990 OPENING OF QUOTATIONS - STATE THEATRE MARQUEE ROOF REPAIR Mr. Leszczynski noted that this was the date set for the receiving and opening of Quotations for the above referred to roof repair. The following Quotation was opened and read: NORTH CENTRAL ROOFING, INC. 1118 North Logan Mishawaka, Indiana 46545 Quotation was submitted by Mr. M. Mark Modlin, Vice -President. QUOTATION: Base Bid: $12,592.00 Temporary Roof Repairs: $ 450.00 Total Base Bid (1 + 2): $13,042.00 Alternate Al: $ 1,291.00 Total with Alternate 1 (1 + 2 + Ali: $14,333.00 Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the Quotation received was referred to the Department of Economic Development for review and recommendation. AWARD BID - TRANSWESTERN BUILDING ASBESTOS ABATEMENT PROJECT Mr. Bob Allen, Manager, Bureau of Public Construction, advised that Clean Air Systems, Inc., 23349 State Road 23 West, South Bend, Indiana, was the apparent low bidder for the above referred to project. He noted that all aspects of their submittal were in order and Cole Associates, Inc., is satisfied that their proposed methods for the work met the specifications. Therefore, Mr. Allen recommended award of Bid Package #1 - Asbestos Abatement, as submitted by Clean Air Systems, Inc., in the amount of $79,600.00. Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. AWARD BID - SIXTY-FIVE (65) SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS WITH 30 MINUTE AIR CYLINDERS AND SIX (6) SELF CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS WITH 60 MINUTE AIR CYLINDERS In a letter to the Board, Fire Chief Luther Taylor advised that after a careful review of the bids received on. October 29, 1990, for the above referred to equipment, it is the recommendation of the Fire Department that the bid of Safety Solutions, A Division of Shoes & Gloves, Inc., 400 East Wilson Bridge Road, Worthington, Ohio, in the amount of $81,630.95, be awarded for the following: 10 9842-80 Survivair 30 Minute, 2216 PSI SCBA, NF with case: 55 9842-82 Same as above, except less case: 6 9870-82 Survivair 60 minute 4500 PSI, SCBA, NFPA less case: 71 9800-17 Survivair Nosecups: 250 Survivair Instruction Booklets - Operat.ion and Maintenance: 1 Survivair VHS Training Tape: Chief Taylor noted that the Fire Department has exercise their option to purchase the protective nor will they be trading -in any of the units or Each: $1,136.50 Each: $1,096.50 Each: $1,460.35 Each: $ 16.85 N/C N/C decided not to cylinder sleeves cylinders.
