343 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 22, 1990 <br />Sodium Chloride 12,000 tons <br />Calcium Chloride Sand 5,000 tons <br />Calcium Chloride Slag Sand 5,000 tons <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the request was approved. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 841 SOUTH GRANT STREET <br />- REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Jerry L. Stigner, 1839 Prairie <br />Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, advised that he and his business <br />partner recently purchased the property at 835 South Grant Street <br />and would like to buy the property listed above for additional <br />yard space and possibly erecting a garage. Therefore, Mr. <br />Leszczynski made a motion that the request be referred to the <br />appropriate City departments and bureaus in order that a <br />determination can be made whether or not the City need retain <br />this property. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUESTS: <br />- OF CITY AWNING TO INSTALL A CANOPY AT 925 BLAINE AVENUE (FAITH <br />BAPTIST BIBLE INSTITUTE) <br />FOR DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE - 524 LA PORTE AVENUE <br />- OF LA SALLE PARK HOMES FOR "NO PARKING" SIGNS ON SOUTH SIDE OF <br />WASHINGTON, FROM FALCON TO KENMORE <br />- OF QUEEN ANNE INN FOR HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE <br />- TO CLOSE MANITOU PLACE, FROM PARK AVENUE TO FOREST AVENUE, FOR <br />ANNUAL NEIGHBORHOOD HALLOWEEN PARTY - OCTOBER 28, 1990 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the above referred to requests which <br />were submitted to the Board on September 24, 1990 and October 8, <br />1990, as well as the recent request submitted by Ms. Giovanna <br />Sandusky, 721 Park Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, on behalf of the <br />Park Avenue Neighborhood Association, to close Manitou from Park <br />Avenue to Forest Avenue, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, <br />October 28, 1990, for a neighborhood Halloween Party, have been <br />reviewed by the appropriate City departments and bureaus and <br />approval is recommended. <br />Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the recommendations <br />be accepted and the requests be approved. Mr. Leszczynski <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE HOUSE MOVE FROM 235 SOUTH ST. PETER TO 508 SOUTH STREET <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Greg Pal, Acting Building <br />Commission, submitted to the Board all information regarding a <br />house move from 235 South St. Peter Street to 508 South Street <br />and advised that all is in order and he submits a favorable <br />recommendation regarding this house move. Mr. Leszczynski made a <br />motion that the recommendation be accepted and the house move be <br />approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT - SLUDGE EQUIPMENT STORAGE <br />FACILITY <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Majority Builders, Inc., 62900 U.S. <br />31 South, South Bend, Indiana, has submitted the Project <br />Completion Affidavit for the above referred to project indicating <br />a final cost of $211,835.00. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a <br />motion that the Project Completion Affidavit be approved. Mrs. <br />DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. <br />
