337 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 22, 1990 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:34 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 1990, by Board President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski and Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq <br />present. Also present was Board Attorney Jenny Pitts Manier. <br />Board member Ms. Katherine Humphreys was not in attendance. <br />AGENDA ITEMS ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following items were added to the agenda: <br />1. Project Completion Affidavit - Sludge Equipment Storage <br />Building Project <br />2. House Move from 235 South St. Peter to 508 South Street <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the minutes of the October 15, 1990, regular meeting <br />of the Board were approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - TWO (2) 1500 GPM TRIPLE COMBINATION MOTORIZED <br />PUMPING FIRE APPARATUS - FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the above referred to equipment. The Clerk tendered proofs <br />of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Summerfield Truck Company, Inc., <br />3030 Grant Street, Gary, Indiana, advised that they cannot submit <br />a bid at this time due to the chassis being a custom cab. <br />The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />PREMIER FIRE EQUIPMENT, INC. (AGENT OF BIDDER) <br />P.O. Box 310 <br />Rushville, Indiana 46173 <br />QUALITY MANUFACTURING, INC. (BIDDER) <br />1420 Nimitz Avenue <br />Talladega, Alabama 35160 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Max C. Lanming, Premier Fire Equipment, <br />Inc., Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order, Non -Discrimination <br />Commitment form was completed and a ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond <br />was submitted. <br />BID: Two (2) Custom Quality Pumpers: $415,910.00 <br />Premier Fire offers a galvaneal cab like <br />the pumper body: Deduct $ 4,318.00 <br />If South Bend wishes to pay for chassis upon <br />invoicing: Deduct $ 4,230.00 <br />The optional equipment package for the two (2) <br />units has been bid with the purchase of the pumpers <br />only: $ 70,820.00 <br />This bid is being offered for delivery in ten (10) <br />months. <br />The financing package being offered is attached to the <br />bid and the exact totals and payments may vary depending - <br />on what is finally purchased. Premier Fire Equipment, ". <br />Inc. and Leasing Unlimited reserve the right to make <br />changes as necessary to reflect exact payment dates and <br />the rates that would apply. <br />
