256 REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 27, 1990 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS FOR THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: 1. The Board of Public Works for the City of South Bend, Indiana hereby expresses its desire and interest in purchasing the following described real property: A part of Parcel 2 in the "Inner Belt Industrial Park", a Subdivision in the Southeast and Southwest Quarters of Section 11, and the Northeast Quarter of Section 14, all in Township 37 North, Range 2 East, the Plat of which is recorded in Plat Book 21, page 1, in the office of the Recorder of said County and State, which is more particularly described as follows: Beginning at point 428.71 feet East of the Southwest corner of said Parcel 2, thence West 428.71 feet; thence North 743.76 feet; thence East 428.71 feet, thence South 745.03 feet to the place of beginning. Including all improvements thereto either permanently installed, or which belong to or are used in connection with the real estate, wherever located. more commonly known, and referred to herein, as the National Mill Supply property at 1045 W. Sample Street, South Bend, Indiana. 2. That the Board of Public Works for the City of South Bend hereby ratifies the appointment of Jerome Michaels and R.E. McCloskey and Associates, professionally engaged in the making of appraisals, to appraise the National Mill Supply property, under I.C. 36-1-10.5-5(2). 3. That the Board of Public Works for the City of South Bend hereby accepts for filing the appraisals of the National Mill Supply property prepared by Jerome Michaels, which appraisal values said property at $600,000.00, and hereby accepts for filing the appraisal of the National Mill Supply property prepared by R.E. McCloskey and Associates, which appraisal values said property at $615,000.00 in satisfaction of I.C. 36-1-10.5-5(3). 4. That the Board of Public Works for the City of South Bend hereby approves the offer to purchase said National Mill supply property for $580,000.00, as said offer is set forth in the "Agreement to Purchase," a true and complete copy of which is attached hereto and incorporate herein, said offer complying with the limits prescribed by I.C. 36-1-10.5-6. 5. That the Board of Public Works for the City of South Bend, hereby authorizes the Director of Public Works to submit to the Council of the City of South Bend, a resolution approving the purchase of the National Mill Supply property, as per the terms of the attached "Purchase Agreement," authorizes the Director of the Department of Public Works to file copies of the appraisals of the National Mill Supply property prepared by Jerome Michaels and R.E. McCloskey and Associates with the Common Council, and authorizes the City Controller and/or Director of the Department of Public Works to file all interfund transfer and appropriation ordinances necessary to effectuate the purchase of the National Mill Supply property. 1 f]
