238 <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 13, 1990 <br />Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the Public Hearing on <br />the matter of the use of an unauthorized taxicab by the Roseland <br />Cab Company be tabled. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE STATE -LOCAL PUBLIC AGENCY AGREEMENT - INDIANA DEPARTMENT <br />OF TRANSPORTATION - COMPUTERIZED TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEM FOR <br />DOWNTOWN SOUTH BEND <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. R.E. Wheeler, Area Engineer, <br />Division of Local Assistance, Indiana Department of <br />Transportation, 100 North Senate Avenue, Room 1101, Indianapolis, <br />Indiana, has submitted to the Board an Agreement between the <br />Indiana Department of Transportation and the City of South Bend <br />in regards to the computerized traffic control systems for <br />downtown South Bend. Mr. Leszczynski noted that the anticipated <br />cost of this project is approximately $2,076,000.00 and that the <br />City's portion of the project is $7,800.00. Mr. Leszczynski <br />further noted that all of the work in regards to this project is <br />being bid through the State and that federal funds are being <br />utilized for the funding of this project. Therefore, Mr. <br />Leszczynski made a motion that the Agreement as submitted be <br />approved and executed. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE AGREEMENT - DESIGN OF ADDITIONAL SEVENTY (70) <br />INTERSECTIONS ON COMPUTERIZED SYSTEMS - CLYDE E. WILLIAMS & <br />ASSOCIATES <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that submitted to the Board for approval <br />and execution was an Agreement between the City and Clyde E. <br />Williams & Associates, to provide engineering services necessary <br />for the design of Phase II of the South Bend computerized traffic <br />signal system. This phase will include seventy (70) signalized <br />intersections on various arterials in South Bend as indicated on <br />Exhibit A of the Agreement. Mr. Leszczynski further noted that <br />the intersections included in this phase are arterial <br />intersections leaving downtown South Bend. Mrs. DeClercq made a <br />motion that the Agreement as submitted be approved. Ms. <br />Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE AGREEMENT FOR SIDEWALK REPAIR - MAIN STREET ROW <br />PROPERTIES <br />Submitted to the Board for approval was an Agreement for Sidewalk <br />Repair, between the City and Main Street Row Properties, P.O. Box <br />3188, South Bend, Indiana. The Agreement indicates that the City <br />estimates the cost of repair to public right-of-way located at <br />the southeast corner of Lot 228, to be sixteen thousand <br />twenty-six dollars of which Main Street Row Properties will pay <br />eight thousand thirteen dollars ($8,013.00). Mr. Leszczynski <br />noted that this Agreement is part of the downtown sidewalk <br />project. <br />Mr. Leszczynski therefore made a motion that the Agreement be <br />approved and executed. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING SERVICES OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY - <br />FIXED UNIT PRICE AGREEMENT <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Kim Smoyer-McCaffery, <br />Planner/Monitor, Employment & Training Services of St. Joseph <br />County, P.O. Box 1048, South Bend, Indiana, submitted two (2) <br />copies of Contract #90-503 for approval and execution by the <br />Board. It is noted that this Agreement for the period, July 1, <br />1990 through June 30, 1991 is in the amount of $3,600.00. <br />The Statement of Work attached to the Agreement indicates that <br />ETS will retain the services of a Deputy City Attorney for advice <br />
