REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 2, 1990 <br />APPROVE REQUESTS: <br />- REQUEST OF CHIPPEWA HEIGHTS WESLEYAN CHURCH KIDS KLUB TO <br />CONDUCT PARADE - JULY 14, 1990 <br />- REQUEST FOR DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE AT 615 SOUTH <br />29TH STREET <br />- REQUEST TO CLOSE EAST <br />TWYCKENHAM <br />[ROE STREET <br />PARTY - JU <br />SUNNYSIDE <br />LY 8, 1990 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the request submitted on June 18, 1990 by <br />the Chippewa Heights Wesleyan Church Kids Klub to conduct a <br />parade on July 14, 1990 and recommend approval. <br />Also, the request submitted on June 11, 1990, by Mr. & Mrs. <br />Richard Czarnecki of 615 South 29th Street, to have the parking <br />space in front of their residence designated as a handicapped <br />parking space has been reviewed and recommended for approval. <br />Additionally, the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police <br />Department have reviewed the request submitted by Ms. Sharon <br />Konopka, 1346 East Monroe Street, South Bend, Indiana, on behalf <br />of the Monroe Street Block Party Committee, to close the 1300 and <br />1400 blocks of East Monroe Street, between Sunnyside and <br />Twyckenham, for their annual block party to be held on July 8, <br />1990 from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and recommend approval. <br />Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendations <br />be accepted and the above referred to requests be approved. Mrs. <br />DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. <br />RESCIND BID AWARD AND APPROVE AWARD OF NEW BID - SALE OF <br />ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, advised that due to an error in the computation of <br />the bids received on June 25, 1990 for the sale of eleven (11) <br />abandoned vehicles, Vehicle 44 was mistakenly awarded to Super <br />Auto Salvage Corporation for the sum of $57.89, when in fact the <br />high bid was received from Mr. William Rutt, Jr., in the amount <br />of $61.49. Mrs. DeClercq advised that both of these individuals <br />have been notified of this error and therefore she made a motion <br />that the Board rescind the previous bid award to Super Auto for <br />Vehicle #4 and approve the award of this vehicle to Mr. Rutt. <br />Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION: STOP SIGN <br />LOCATION: Douglas & Bruce - Douglas & Dubail <br />REMARKS: "T" intersections <br />2. NEW INSTALLATION: HANDICAP PARKING SPACE <br />LOCATION: 1131 Oak Park Court <br />REMARKS: Requested by Mr. Salvator Crimaldi <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Chief Deputy Controller John D.
