REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 16, 1990 <br />M <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />APPROVE REQUESTS: <br />- OF AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY TO CONDUCT POPPY DAY SALES - MAY <br />4-5, 1990 <br />- OF PARK DEPARTMENT TO CLOSE NILES FROM WASHINGTON TO COLFAX <br />IN CONJUNCTION WITH KAYAK RACES - APRIL 21-22 1990 JULY <br />21-22, 1990 AND AUGUST 18-19, 1990 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the above referred to requests, <br />which were submitted to -the Board on April 2,.-1990 have been <br />reviewed by various City departments and bureaus and are being <br />recommended for approval at this time. Therefore, Mr. <br />Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and <br />the requests be approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION: Right Lane Must Turn Right <br />LOCATION: On Jefferson at St. Joseph <br />FILING OF EXTENSION OF BID - AUTOMATED INFORMATION PROCESSING <br />SYSTEM <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a letter <br />from Wang Laboratories, Inc., Suite 207, 401 East Colfax Avenue, <br />South Bend, Indiana, as written confirmation that Wang has <br />extended the pricing as submitted on December 18, 1989 for the <br />Automated Information Processing System to June 1, 1990. It is <br />noted that this confirmation is in response to a request of the <br />Board on March 12, 1990. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the <br />letter be accepted for filing. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />APPROVE EXCAVATION BOND <br />Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director, Division of Engineering, <br />recommended that the Excavation Bond for Kropp Fire Protection, <br />Inc., 2015 W. Westeij Avenue, P.O. Box 3059, South Bend, Indiana <br />be approved effective April 16, 1990. Mr. Leszczynski made a <br />motion that the recommendation be accepted and the Bond be <br />approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEETS: <br />- UNION STATTnN PARKTI <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Title Sheets for the above referred <br />to projects were being presented at this time for execution. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the above referred to Title Sheets were approved and <br />signed. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of twenty-three (23) properties cleaned from April 4, 1990 <br />to April 5, 1990, was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the report as <br />submitted was filed. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. Juan Manigault, Executive Director, Employment & Training <br />Services of St. Joseph County, submitted a list containing one <br />hundred sixty-nine (169) claims and recommended approval. <br />
