REGULAR MEETING APRIL 9, 1990 123 1 1 I block of West Washington Street during the ceremony. The request noted that the ceremony will be on the front steps of the county courthouse and the squad cars lining the street area will all have their red lights on during the ceremony in a tribute to the deceased officers. Permission is also requested for the firing of a volley of shots (blank, low velocity shotgun rounds) at the end of the ceremony which is traditional. TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 1629 SOUTH WILLIAM STREET Ms. Diana C. Ortiz, 1633 South William Street, South Bend, Indiana, advised that she is interested in purchasing the City -owned property at 1629 South William Street. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the requests as outlined above be referred to the necessary City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BOND Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Engineering Department has recommended that the Contractor's Bond for Victor Lynn, d/b/a Express Construction be approved effective April 9, 1990. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bond be approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were approved: 1. NEW INSTALLATION: LOCATION: REMARKS: Handicap Parking Space 1528 Kemble Pursuant to request submitted to the Board of Public Works on February 26, 1990 by Mr. Robert Taylor Temporary - No parking - Tow Zone Northside Blvd., - Sample to Louise In conjunction with the March of Dimes WalkAmerica to take place on April 28, 1990, for the safety of the participants FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a total of twenty-five (25) properties cleaned from March 26, 1990 to March 30, 1990, was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the report as submitted was filed. FILING OF HUMANE SOCIETY MONTHLY REPORT - MARCH Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Humane Society of St. Joseph County, Inc. has submitted its monthly report for the month of March indicating the type and number of animals handled for the City of South Bend. Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the report as submitted be accepted for filing. Ms. Humphrey seconded the motion which carried.
