REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 9, 1990 <br />123 <br />1 <br />1 <br />I <br />block of West Washington Street during the ceremony. The <br />request noted that the ceremony will be on the front steps of <br />the county courthouse and the squad cars lining the street area <br />will all have their red lights on during the ceremony in a <br />tribute to the deceased officers. Permission is also requested <br />for the firing of a volley of shots (blank, low velocity <br />shotgun rounds) at the end of the ceremony which is <br />traditional. <br />TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 1629 SOUTH WILLIAM STREET <br />Ms. Diana C. Ortiz, 1633 South William Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana, advised that she is interested in purchasing the <br />City -owned property at 1629 South William Street. <br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the requests as outlined above <br />be referred to the necessary City departments and bureaus for <br />review and recommendation. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Engineering Department has <br />recommended that the Contractor's Bond for Victor Lynn, d/b/a <br />Express Construction be approved effective April 9, 1990. <br />Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the recommendation be <br />accepted and the bond be approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION: <br />LOCATION: <br />REMARKS: <br />Handicap Parking Space <br />1528 Kemble <br />Pursuant to request submitted to <br />the Board of Public Works on <br />February 26, 1990 by Mr. Robert <br />Taylor <br />Temporary - No parking - Tow Zone <br />Northside Blvd., - Sample to Louise <br />In conjunction with the March of <br />Dimes WalkAmerica to take place on <br />April 28, 1990, for the safety of <br />the participants <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of twenty-five (25) properties cleaned from March 26, 1990 <br />to March 30, 1990, was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the report as <br />submitted was filed. <br />FILING OF HUMANE SOCIETY MONTHLY REPORT - MARCH <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Humane Society of St. Joseph <br />County, Inc. has submitted its monthly report for the month of <br />March indicating the type and number of animals handled for the <br />City of South Bend. Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the report <br />as submitted be accepted for filing. Ms. Humphrey seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />
